To pair Pixel Buds with a Chromebook, put the earbuds in their open case and hold the button on the back until the status light pulses. On your Chromebook, turn on Bluetooth, choose Pair new device, and select Pixel Buds. The earbuds should then appear under Currently connected.

If your Pixel Buds do not appear or connect
- Make sure Bluetooth is on and the earbuds are still in pairing mode. Keep the earbuds and Chromebook close together.
- Turn Chromebook Bluetooth off, then back on, and try Pair new device again.
- If they still will not connect, remove or forget Pixel Buds in the Chromebook’s Bluetooth settings, restart the Chromebook, then put the earbuds back in pairing mode and pair them again. Google recommends these steps in its Pixel Buds audio troubleshooting guidance.
Do you need the Pixel Buds web companion app?
No. Pairing uses the Chromebook’s Bluetooth settings; the web companion app is for managing supported earbuds after they have been paired. Google lists Pixel Buds Pro, Pixel Buds Pro 2, and Pixel Buds 2a as supported for that app, which requires ChromeOS 128 or newer. Those app requirements do not apply to Bluetooth pairing itself. If the buds do not appear in the app’s device picker, Google advises forgetting and re-pairing them in the system Bluetooth settings. Google’s Pixel Buds requirements and specifications
