To pair Pixel Buds Pro 2, leave both earbuds in their open charging case, hold the button on the back until the status light pulses, then select the buds from your device’s Bluetooth menu. Android may show a Fast Pair notification; iPhone, iPad, and computers use their Bluetooth device lists.
Before you start
Make sure the case has power, keep both earbuds seated inside it, and turn on Bluetooth on the device you want to pair. Google says Pixel Buds work with Bluetooth 4.0 or newer devices, including Android and iOS phones, tablets, and laptops. Basic Bluetooth audio pairing does not guarantee that every setting or feature is available on every operating system. See Google’s Pixel Buds requirements and specifications.
Pair Pixel Buds Pro 2 with an Android phone
- Leave both earbuds in the charging case and open the lid.
- Unlock your Android phone and turn on Bluetooth.
- Hold the pairing button on the back of the case until the status light pulses or blinks.
- Tap the Pixel Buds pairing notification and follow the on-screen steps. Google’s Fast Pair flow works on Android 6 and later.
If no notification appears, open the phone’s Bluetooth settings, choose the option to add or pair a device, and select Pixel Buds from the list. Some Android devices require this manual selection. Google’s quick-start guide and setup instructions cover these pairing methods.
Pair Pixel Buds Pro 2 with an iPhone or iPad
- Turn on Bluetooth in the iPhone or iPad settings.
- Keep the earbuds inside the open case and hold the button on the back until the status light pulses white.
- Open the Bluetooth device list and tap Pixel Buds.
This uses standard Bluetooth. Google lists iOS devices as compatible, but that does not mean the Android setup app or all Android-specific features are available on iOS. See Google’s iPhone and iPad setup guidance.

Pair Pixel Buds Pro 2 with a PC or other computer
- Turn on Bluetooth on the computer.
- Leave the earbuds in the open charging case.
- Hold the pairing button on the back of the case until the status light pulses or blinks.
- Open the computer’s Bluetooth device list, search for devices, and select Google Pixel Buds to connect.
Google’s quick-start guide covers computers and names ChromeOS, macOS, and Windows for setup through mypixelbuds.google.com. The exact Bluetooth menu labels depend on the computer and operating-system version.
Pairing several devices is different from using them at once
You can pair the buds with multiple devices, but pairing saves them for later; it does not keep them all connected simultaneously. Pixel Buds Pro 2 support Multipoint for two concurrent Bluetooth connections, and Multipoint is off by default. With an Android phone, iPhone, and PC, pair each device, then enable Multipoint if you want two of them connected at the same time. Calls and other activity can affect which source you hear. Google explains the behavior in its Multipoint and audio switch guide.

If Pixel Buds Pro 2 do not appear
- In the host device’s Bluetooth settings, forget or remove any saved Pixel Buds entry.
- Check that both earbuds are correctly seated in the open case and that the case has power.
- Hold the case pairing button for three seconds. A bouncing white status light indicates the buds are ready to pair.
- Search for Pixel Buds again in the host device’s Bluetooth list and select them.
If the earbuds do not respond in their charging slots, check their seating and the case’s charge before trying again. Treat a reset as a later step: Google says resetting clears settings, and on Pixel Buds Pro 2 it also resets Find Hub locating ability. For previously owned or refurbished buds, Google says a reset is required to transfer ownership and enable Find Hub tracking. Follow Google’s pairing troubleshooting instructions before resetting.
