To pair Nothing Headphone (1), switch it on, then hold the Bluetooth pairing button for 2 seconds until the white LED blinks. Open Bluetooth settings on your phone, laptop, tablet, or other host and select Nothing Headphone (1) from the available-device list. Follow any on-screen prompt.
Pair Nothing Headphone (1) with a phone, laptop, or tablet
- Switch on the headphones using the power switch.
- Hold the Bluetooth pairing button for 2 seconds, until the white LED blinks. Nothing identifies the flashing white LED as pairing mode. Nothing’s pairing guide describes this headphone-side procedure.
- On your phone, laptop, tablet, or other Bluetooth host, open Bluetooth settings and choose Nothing Headphone (1) from the available-device list. Follow a prompt if one appears.
The pairing-button procedure is the same regardless of host. Menu names and locations can vary by operating system and version; Nothing’s guide does not provide version-specific Android, iOS, Windows, or macOS instructions.
Connect Headphone (1) to a second device
Headphone (1) supports dual connection, but it is turned off by default. Enable it in the Nothing X app before expecting the headphones to maintain connections to two devices. Nothing’s dual-connection guide explains the feature.
After enabling dual connection, connect the headphones to the two devices you want to use. If there is no connection history after enabling the feature, the headphones stay in single-connection mode. They do not automatically enter pairing mode in that state, so hold the Bluetooth pairing button to pair another device.

When dual connection is enabled, the headphones try to reconnect to the last two connected devices when switched on if fewer than two are connected and no USB-C audio or 3.5 mm Aux-In cable is plugged in.
How audio behaves across two connected devices
- Usually, the device that starts playing music first sends the audio you hear.
- A call on the other connected device can mute the music without pausing it and route the call to the headphones. Music resumes when the call ends.
- If music is already playing from one device and the second device starts playback, Nothing says the audio does not switch channels; the later source remains muted.
- Controls apply to the device currently sending audio. When nothing is playing, they apply to the last-connected device or the one that most recently played audio through the headphones.
If Headphone (1) does not appear or reconnect
- Check pairing mode: Make sure the headphones are switched on and the white LED is flashing. If it is not, hold the Bluetooth pairing button for 2 seconds.
- Do not wait for automatic pairing in single-connection mode: Hold the pairing button to make the headphones discoverable when adding a device.
- Account for the two-device limit: Headphone (1) supports two active connections. Entering pairing mode to add another device can disconnect one of the existing connections. Nothing’s guidance also says a current call prevents connection takeover.
- Reset only if needed: Hold the pairing button for 10 seconds. Nothing’s reset instructions describe red flashes followed by white as confirmation. Its support pages differ on whether the white light flashes or stays solid, so the red-to-white sequence is the safer confirmation to look for. Reset instructions and LED indicator meanings provide the details.
Use a wired connection instead
Nothing documents audio through USB-C and 3.5 mm Aux-In. These are alternatives when Bluetooth is unavailable or a wired connection suits your setup. With a supported cable plugged in, the headphones’ automatic Bluetooth reconnection behavior changes. Nothing’s product support information covers the connection options.

What pairing features are established
Nothing’s official support information confirms the pairing-button procedure, dual connection, reset behavior, LED meanings, and wired audio. It does not establish support for Google Fast Pair or Microsoft Swift Pair, so do not assume either feature is available based on the support material.
