PlayStation’s official support pages reviewed for this article do not document a controller called “DualSense 2.0,” a PS6 pairing process, or compatibility between those products. The steps below are verified instructions for pairing a standard DualSense wireless controller with a PS5; they are not a confirmed PS6 workaround.
Pair a DualSense controller with PS5 for the first time
- Turn on your PS5.
- Connect the DualSense controller to the console with a USB cable.
- If the controller is off, press the PS button. The light bar blinks and the player indicator lights up.
- Once the controller has sufficient battery charge, disconnect the cable to use it wirelessly.
PlayStation’s instructions call for a USB cable but do not specify a cable standard. You may already have a suitable cable; buying one is not inherently required.
Add another controller to PS5 wirelessly
- On the PS5, use the already-paired controller to open Settings > Accessories > General > Bluetooth Accessories.
- Make sure the additional controller’s player indicator is off. If a USB cable is connected, disconnect it.
- On the additional controller, hold the Create and PS buttons together until it enters pairing mode.
- Select the controller from the Bluetooth Accessories list on the PS5.
Pair a DualSense with a supported non-console device
- Check that the controller’s player indicator is off and disconnect any USB cable.
- Hold the Create and PS buttons together until the light bar blinks.
- Open Bluetooth settings on the device and select the controller from its list of available devices.
PlayStation lists support for Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11, macOS Big Sur 11.3 or later, iOS 14.5 or later, iPadOS 14.5 or later, tvOS 14.5 or later, and Android 12 or later. Support is platform- and feature-dependent: PlayStation notes that some functions—including adaptive triggers, haptics, the microphone and speaker, and the headset jack—may be unavailable on some devices. Pairing successfully does not guarantee that every controller feature works on that platform.
Use saved pairings to switch devices
PlayStation says one DualSense controller can have up to four registered pairings, assigned to separate slots. Its instructions describe assigning a slot with an action-button/PS-button combination and switching to an assigned connection. This feature manages saved connections; it does not establish that the controller works with PS6.

- Adaptive triggers - Experience varying levels of force and tension as you interact with your in-game gear and environments. From pulling back an increasingly tight bowstring to hitting the brakes on a speeding car, feel physically connected to your on-screen actions.
- Built-in microphone and headset jack - Chat with friends online using the built-in microphone or by connecting a headset to the 3.5mm jack. Easily switch voice capture on and off at a moment’s notice with the dedicated mute button. Internet and account for PlayStation Network required.
- DualSense Controller PS5 and PC compatible. Not compatible with PS4.
- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
What is confirmed about “DualSense 2.0” and PS6?
The PlayStation support material reviewed, accessed October 4, 2026, covers DualSense pairing with PS5 and supported non-console devices. It does not provide instructions for a “DualSense 2.0” or a PS6, or confirm compatibility between them. That is a limit of the pages reviewed, not proof that no future product announcement or support update will appear. For any later product or compatibility claim, check current official PlayStation documentation.
