1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTo move SingleFileZ settings to another browser, install its successor, SingleFile, in the destination browser and use SingleFile’s settings-import guidance to import the existing SingleFileZ settings. The maintainer says SingleFileZ has been merged into SingleFile and identifies this import as the continuation path. The published project documentation does not establish a universal browser-to-browser export process, exact current button labels, or a guarantee that every setting will transfer unchanged.
What changed: SingleFileZ settings belong in SingleFile
The SingleFileZ project README states, “SingleFileZ has been completely merged into SingleFile.” It adds: “Alternatively, you can simply import your existing settings in SingleFile.” SingleFileZ project README
In practice, treat this as a migration from the legacy extension into its successor—not as a documented export-and-import procedure that works identically between every pair of browsers. Mozilla’s listing identifies SingleFileZ as a Firefox add-on and lists version 1.4.45, last updated February 15, 2024; that listing metadata, alongside the project’s merger notice, supports using SingleFile as the destination extension. Move the settings into the destination browser
- Keep the source browser profile intact. Do not uninstall SingleFileZ, clear its extension data, or change the source profile before you have confirmed the migration. This is a precaution in case you need to refer back to the original configuration.
- Install SingleFile in the destination browser, if needed. The SingleFile project lists support for Chrome, Firefox (desktop and mobile), Microsoft Edge, Safari, Vivaldi, Brave, Waterfox, Yandex Browser, and Opera. See its README for browser-store links and current platform information. SingleFile README
- Open SingleFile’s options page. Use the extension’s options page in the destination browser, then follow the settings-import instructions in the help available there. The project README points users to this in-page help for option details and technical notes. It confirms importing existing SingleFileZ settings, but does not document a stable sequence of controls shared by every browser.
- Review important options after import. Check the settings that matter to your saved pages, such as capture behavior and output preferences, against what you expect from the source setup. Do not assume every legacy value maps identically.
- Make a small test save. Save a representative page in the destination browser and open the resulting file to verify the outcome before relying on the new setup.
Why browser-data import may not move extension settings
Browser migration tools and SingleFile’s extension-settings import are different routes. The available SingleFileZ documentation confirms importing existing settings in SingleFile; it does not say that Chrome, Firefox, or Edge’s general browser-data import automatically carries SingleFileZ preferences into another browser. SingleFileZ’s FAQ says its storage permission lets it store settings, which is a reason not to assume that ordinary browser bookmarks or history migration also transfers extension-specific configuration. - Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If the import does not work
- You cannot find the import control: Open SingleFile’s options page and consult the help shown there. Public project documentation does not establish one exact label or click path for all supported browsers and versions.
- The source settings are unavailable: Confirm that you are using the original browser profile in which SingleFileZ was configured. Preserve that profile and its extension data while investigating; avoid clearing or reinstalling until you have checked whether the settings remain accessible.
- Some options appear different after migration: Compare the destination options with the configuration you can still inspect in the source profile, then adjust the destination manually as needed. The maintainer’s general import statement is not a per-setting compatibility guarantee.
- A browser’s built-in migration copied other data but not these preferences: Use the extension-specific import route in SingleFile rather than treating general browser-data migration as proof that SingleFileZ settings transferred.
The SingleFileZ FAQ also says the extension does not upload data to third-party servers. That statement is specifically about SingleFileZ; it should not be read as a separate privacy guarantee about every browser migration mechanism. SingleFileZ FAQ
