Treat apps and their data separately: an app may need manual installation, and its sign-ins or private data may not come across. Before cloning, back up anything already on the new Vivo that you want to keep—Vivo warns that data for the same apps on the destination can be overwritten.
Choose the transfer method that fits your situation

Prepare before moving anything
Keep the old phone available and unlocked. If you plan to use Google’s Android setup transfer, charge both phones, connect to Wi-Fi or mobile internet, and check that the new phone has enough free storage. Google says a transfer may take from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on how much data is being copied. See Google’s Android transfer instructions.
Check the new Vivo for anything you have already added. Vivo’s manual warns that data for an app already present on the new phone will be overwritten when Phone Clone completes; it does not describe a merge. Back up or move anything you want to retain before starting.
Move data with Vivo EasyShare Phone Clone
- Open EasyShare on both phones. On the old phone, choose Old phone; on the new Vivo, choose New phone.
- On the old phone, select the appropriate source type if prompted: Android or iPhone. For an iPhone source, Vivo’s manual says EasyShare should be installed on the iPhone before transfer.
- Use the new Vivo to scan the QR code shown on the old phone and establish the connection.
- On the old phone, select the items you want to copy, then start the transfer.
- Wait for completion before disconnecting the phones. Review the new Vivo afterward and install any apps that did not install automatically.
Vivo describes Phone Clone as a local transfer that does not consume mobile data. Its EasyShare site advertises speeds of up to 40 MB/s; that is Vivo’s advertised maximum, not a guaranteed rate for a particular transfer.

Install apps that did not arrive ready to use
Vivo support says permission limitations can prevent transferred apps from installing automatically. If an app is missing or not installed, Vivo directs users to Files > Apps to install it manually. Transferring an app package does not establish that its private data, credentials, or logged-in state transferred too. Sign in again where required and use the app’s own recovery or export process for protected data.
Use Google’s Android-to-Android setup transfer instead
If both phones are Android and the Vivo is still in initial setup, Google offers a separate copy process over either cable or Wi-Fi. Google says both connection methods support the same data categories. Follow the on-screen Copy apps & data prompts during setup; for a wired transfer, use a cable that fits both phones, with an adapter if needed. Wi-Fi is an alternative, so a cable is not required for this route.

Google lists apps and certain app data, music, photos and videos, contacts stored on the phone or SIM, text messages, most phone settings, multimedia in messages, wallpaper, and call history as items that may copy. The exact options can depend on the devices and Android versions.
Know what Google’s setup transfer may leave behind
Google says this setup flow does not copy some items, including downloads such as PDFs, media in hidden folders, apps outside Google Play, data from apps that do not use Android backup, non-Google accounts and their data, contacts and calendars synced to other services, ringtones, and some settings. Check the Google transfer guidance for the current instructions and exclusions that apply to your setup.

Google recommends doing the transfer during setup and says the copy through this setup option can be performed only once. Some devices may provide a later transfer route, so check the Vivo’s setup and support options if you have already completed setup rather than assuming there is no alternative.

During Android setup on the Vivo, sign in with the Google Account used for the backup and choose the available backup when prompted. Google says an Android backup can include apps and app data, call history, contacts, device settings, and SMS/MMS messages. Certain Google apps back up additional content, such as RCS messages in Google Messages and photos or videos in Google Photos.

A backup is not a complete copy of every app or account. Google cautions that some apps cannot back up or restore all settings and data; what returns also varies by phone and Android version. A backup made on a higher Android version cannot be restored to a phone running a lower version. Check Google’s Android backup and restore guidance for the current steps and available backup details.

After the transfer: verify the data that matters
- Open important apps and sign in again if needed.
- Check messages, contacts, photos, downloads, and files that matter to you; do not assume a successful transfer prompt means every category or app-specific record arrived.
- For banking, authenticator, messaging, or other apps with protected data, follow each app’s own transfer or account-recovery process.
- Keep the old phone intact until you have confirmed that the essential information is available on the Vivo.
