1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsAndroid includes controls for app permissions, location precision, camera and microphone access, and privacy activity—but the menus and available options vary by Android version and phone maker. Use this guide to review what apps can access and tune those controls on your own device.
Where to find Android’s privacy controls
Open Settings and search for Privacy Dashboard or Permission manager if you do not see those labels in the menus. On Pixel phones, Google lists both under security and privacy settings; other manufacturers may organize or name them differently. See Google’s Pixel security and privacy settings guide.
How to audit which apps have access
Check recent activity in Privacy Dashboard
Open Privacy Dashboard and select a sensitive permission category, such as location, camera, or microphone. Review the apps shown and whether their access matches what you expect. Google documents a history window of the last seven days on Android 13 and the last 24 hours on Android 12; these periods should not be assumed to apply to every Android release or manufacturer interface. Google’s Privacy Dashboard instructions explain how to inspect activity.
Review permissions by app and category
Use Permission manager to view apps with access to a particular category, or open an app’s settings to review its permissions individually. Remove access that is not needed for the app’s purpose. When offered, choose an option such as While using the app or Only this time rather than granting ongoing access by default; the exact choices depend on the permission, Android version, and device. Google’s Android privacy and permissions overview describes these controls.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Choose location access deliberately
For apps that do not need your exact position, choose approximate rather than precise location when Android presents that option. A map or navigation app may need precision for turn-by-turn directions, while some local recommendations or weather features may work with a less exact location. Decide app by app: approximate access reduces precision, but it does not mean the app receives no location information. The setting and its wording can vary by device.
Understand camera and microphone indicators
Android can show indicators when an app uses the camera or microphone, and location indicators can provide visibility into location access. On supported devices, tapping an indicator can show which app accessed the resource. These indicators help identify access; they are not a complete account of every type of data an app may collect. The Android Open Source Project documents how privacy indicators work, including behavior that varies by Android version.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Some devices also expose system-wide camera or microphone access switches in Settings or Quick Settings. Search Settings for camera access or microphone access, or inspect Quick Settings. The location and availability of these switches are device-specific, so use the path shown on your phone rather than assuming one universal menu route.
Use automatic permission reset as a backstop
Android can automatically reset permissions for apps you have not used. That helps limit access from forgotten apps, but it does not replace reviewing permissions for apps you still use. Check the current settings directly instead of relying on an eventual reset. Google includes unused-app permission reset in its privacy and permissions overview.

Check app disclosures and keep Android updated
Read the Play Store Data safety section
Before installing an app, review its Data safety section in Google Play to learn what data the developer discloses the app may access or use. Treat it as information to weigh alongside the permissions Android requests—not as a guarantee that the app is risk-free.
Install available system updates
Check whether your phone has an Android update available. On Pixel, Google includes checking for operating system updates among its security and privacy actions. Update availability and menu paths depend on your device and its support period; consult your phone maker’s update settings or support guidance. Google’s Pixel guide covers the Pixel-specific settings and update controls.

What Android’s consent controls do—and do not—mean
Android’s permissions give users a way to make access decisions, but allowing access is not a judgment that an app is trustworthy or that its data practices are appropriate. The Android 15 Compatibility Definition requires user consent for an app to access location or physical activity data, subject to platform and device-management provisions. That is a platform compatibility requirement, not a guarantee about every app or a substitute for reviewing its access. See the Android 15 Compatibility Definition.
