To make a prepared ASMR recording loop without an audible pop, repair the transition between the end and beginning in an audio editor, export the finished file, and listen across the seam repeatedly. Then enable Loop on the file’s OBS Media Source. OBS repeats playback; it does not make a discontinuous edit seamless.
Why an audio pop happens at the loop point
A pop or click can occur when the waveform changes abruptly where playback jumps from the end of a file back to its beginning. A cut at a low-amplitude point or zero crossing may reduce that risk, but it is not a guarantee: the left and right stereo channels can cross zero at different times. The transition also has to sound natural for the particular ASMR texture.
This workflow is for a prepared recording that repeats during a livestream. A live sound feed being stopped and restarted is a different problem; an OBS loop setting alone cannot repair a discontinuous recording.
Repair and test the recording

Listen through the boundary
Open the source file in an audio editor and listen from the end into the beginning repeatedly. Identify whether the seam is an abrupt waveform change or whether the ending and opening simply do not blend naturally. Do not judge the loop from a single play-through.

Try moving the edit to a compatible point
If the ending can meet the beginning naturally, adjust the edit points toward low-amplitude regions or zero crossings. Audacity’s guidance explains that these points can help reduce clicks, while stereo channels may have different crossing points. Crossfade if a direct join still sounds abrupt
Overlap the ending and beginning on separate sections or tracks, then fade the outgoing audio down as the incoming audio rises. Audacity defines a crossfade as one section fading out while another fades in. The fade curve affects the result: constant-gain fades can dip in level, while constant-power fades are intended to reduce that dip but may raise the peak. Choose by listening for a smooth, even transition; a crossfade can remove a click yet still sound wrong if it creates a repeated swell or blends unrelated sounds. Audacity: Fade and Crossfade

Audition the loop region repeatedly
Use loop playback in the editor and adjust the region while listening across the join more than once. Audacity’s timeline documentation describes loop-region controls for finding a seamless loop point. The aim is not merely a quiet cut: make sure the transition preserves the sound’s texture and does not create an obvious dip, swell, or repeated event. Audacity: Timeline

Export, then check the exported file
Listen to the actual file you plan to stream, not only the editor session. Audacity notes that some applications may add a small silence at the beginning of MP3 playback. If that limitation matters in your setup, try WAV, FLAC, or Ogg Vorbis and audition the exported version again. Audacity: MP3 Export Options

Make OBS repeat the prepared file

Add a Media Source
In OBS, add the finished local recording as a Media Source and select the file. OBS documents the Media Source loop control as specifying whether the file plays again after playback completes. Find the current control in your version of OBS if its interface differs. OBS Project: Media Sources

Enable Loop and check playback
Enable Loop for the Media Source. Monitor or record the stream long enough to hear several boundaries in the intended setup. This verifies both the exported file and how that source plays in OBS; the repeat control does not change the audio edit.

Use a playlist only if that is what you need
For a playlist, OBS also offers a VLC Video Source. It requires VLC, and OBS states that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. A playlist source can repeat playback, but it still cannot repair a pop in an individual file’s loop point. OBS Project: Media Sources
Choose the fix by listening, not by appearance
- Move the edit: useful when the end and beginning can meet at compatible, quiet waveform points. Zero crossings may reduce click risk but do not guarantee a smooth stereo join.
- Crossfade: useful when a direct join remains audible. Listen for level dips with a constant-gain curve and for peak increases or an unnatural swell with a constant-power curve.
- Change export format: worth trying if the target playback software introduces a small beginning silence with MP3. Recheck the exported file in the streaming source.
Headphones can make it easier to hear a seam while editing, but no particular headphones or other hardware are required to fix it.
