Set the browser context to the intended Indian locale and timezone before navigation, then verify that the webpage itself renders dates and prices accordingly. For an English-language India presentation, start with en-IN and Asia/Kolkata. Locale settings influence browser behavior; they do not rewrite hardcoded or server-rendered text. A screenshot records what the page actually displays.
Configure the agent’s browser before loading the page
For an agent using Playwright, create a context with locale and timezone options, then navigate and capture after the relevant content has rendered. Create a fresh context if the agent is using an existing browser session whose settings cannot be changed.

Choose the locale for the intended reader
en-IN is a reasonable starting point for English-language India conventions. Choose hi-IN if Hindi locale behavior is intended, or another locale that matches the audience. The locale can affect locale-sensitive formatting and language preferences, but the target site determines whether those preferences affect its visible content.

Set timezone only when the time semantics call for it
Asia/Kolkata makes timestamps use India local time. Timezone and locale are distinct: timezone changes how timestamps map to clock time, while locale influences locale-sensitive presentation. Do not apply a timezone conversion blindly to date-only values, which may represent a calendar date rather than a moment in time.
Make date and currency formatting explicit when you control the page
If you own the application code, use locale-aware formatters rather than relying on browser preferences alone. Specify the locale, timezone where relevant, and the currency code explicitly:

The exact date order, digits, symbol position, spacing, and grouping depend on the locale and runtime. Check the output in the same browser environment the agent will capture; do not assume a particular string layout without verifying it.
Use an agent workflow that verifies the rendered result
- Specify the intended presentation. Tell the agent the locale, timezone if needed, preferred language or script, desired date order, currency, and screenshot scope.
- Set browser context first. Apply locale and timezone options before navigation, or start a fresh context if the current session cannot be configured.
- Wait for the actual content. Prefer a page-specific readiness signal, such as the date or price element appearing or updating, over an arbitrary short sleep.
- Inspect visible values. Use a DOM or accessibility snapshot, or extract page text, to check what the target actually rendered before capturing it.
- Capture the needed area. Use a viewport image for the initial screen, full-page capture for below-the-fold content, or an element capture when only a specific component matters.
- Record the setup and any mismatch. Note locale, timezone, screenshot scope, and observed formatting so another run can reproduce and review the result.
For an unfamiliar third-party site, the agent can configure its browser and report the result; it cannot guarantee that the site will replace strings generated by its own server or hardcoded in its interface.
Choose screenshot scope and resolution deliberately
Playwright’s Page API supports viewport and full-page screenshots, element screenshots, output formats, and scale options. The Playwright MCP screenshot documentation describes capturing the viewport, a specific element, or the full scrollable page.

- Viewport: captures the currently visible area, useful when the agent needs to show the page’s initial state.
- Full page: captures content beyond the fold; confirm that lazy-loaded content has appeared before the screenshot.
- Element: isolates a date, price, or other component for focused checking.
- Scale: device-pixel scale can produce higher-resolution text, but the image’s pixel dimensions then differ from CSS-pixel dimensions.
Troubleshoot dates or prices that still look wrong
The page still shows US-formatted values
Changing browser locale does not force a site to reformat values. The page may use hardcoded text, server-rendered strings, or application logic that ignores locale. Inspect the visible value and, if you control the code, format it explicitly with Intl.DateTimeFormat or Intl.NumberFormat.

Check the context’s timezoneId separately from its locale. Use Asia/Kolkata only if the displayed timestamp should reflect India local time; check whether the source value is a timestamp or a date-only value.
The capture happens before prices or dates update
Wait for a reliable page-specific readiness condition, then inspect the date and currency text before taking the screenshot. A fixed delay may be too short on a slow page or unnecessarily long on a fast one.

The screenshot omits content below the fold
Use full-page capture rather than a viewport-only capture. If the page lazy-loads images or other content, wait for the relevant content to load before capturing.
The output looks too small or dimensions differ
Review the screenshot scale setting. Device-pixel scale can increase resolution, but also changes output pixel dimensions relative to CSS pixels.
