The right RIDGID claim route depends on what you own. A registered RIDGID power tool with a Lifetime Service Agreement (LSA) goes through the “File A Claim” option in your RIDGID account, and RIDGID supplies a prepaid FedEx label. RIDGID pipe tools and other hand tools fall under a separate full-lifetime warranty with a different route. The general “Request Tool Repair” form does not accept power tools at all. This guide covers how to pick the right path, what to have ready, and what to do if the warranty doesn’t apply.
Step 1: Work out which RIDGID warranty applies
RIDGID power tools and RIDGID pipe and hand tools are covered by separate programs. Find the exact model number on the tool’s data plate, then match it to one of these:

These details come from RIDGID’s power-tool warranty/LSA terms page and its separate full-lifetime warranty page. Terms can vary by model, purchase date, purchase channel and country, so check the page for your specific tool. This guide is based on RIDGID’s U.S. pages.
Step 2: Gather your records
- Proof of purchase. RIDGID requires it to approve LSA registration. Keep the receipt or an order confirmation.
- Model and serial numbers for the tool.
- LSA identification number or confirmation. RIDGID’s detailed terms say an LSA service request requires the LSA ID number and acceptable personal identification.
- The full kit, for some cordless diagnostics. The tool, battery and charger bought together may need to be present.
If you haven’t registered an eligible power tool, RIDGID states LSA registration must be completed within 90 days of purchase. After that window, don’t count on LSA coverage. The 3-year limited warranty is a separate matter, so check its terms.

Step 3: File a claim for a registered power tool
- Sign in to your RIDGID account.
- Open My Tools.
- Select the product that needs service.
- Choose File A Claim.
- Follow the prompts, then ship the tool with the prepaid FedEx label RIDGID provides.
RIDGID says a factory-trained technician repairs or replaces the tool, and that it may be returned in as little as 14 days. That is the company’s stated estimate, not a guarantee, so allow for longer.
Step 4: Use another service route when the account flow doesn’t fit
Authorized service center or Repair Hub
RIDGID offers an authorized service-center locator and a Repair Hub for managing repairs. Confirm with the center that your model and warranty status are supported before you travel or ship.

The “Request Tool Repair” form
This form generates a repair number and shipping instructions after you submit it. RIDGID states it does not support power tools, generators or pressure washers. For those, use the account claim flow if you have an LSA, or contact RIDGID’s power-tool support line.
Pipe wrenches and other hand tools
RIDGID’s full-lifetime warranty page describes service through an authorized center or direct delivery. It says pipe wrenches and other hand tools should go back to the place of purchase.

Contact your local RIDGID distributor or authorized service center rather than using the U.S. flows.

For power tools, RIDGID excludes failures from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration or modification, unauthorized repair, and user-inflicted or external damage. Consumable accessories such as blades and bits are also excluded. The hand-tool warranty excludes misuse, abuse and normal wear. RIDGID decides whether a failure is covered, so a claim is not a guaranteed repair.

The power-tool terms say coverage can include normal wear items, parts and qualifying cordless batteries, which is broader than many readers expect.

If the claim is denied or the tool is out of warranty
- Ask for the reason and the repair cost through the service center or support line before approving a chargeable repair.
- Consider self-repair carefully. RIDGID lists genuine parts on its service site. Use your exact model and part number. Note that unauthorized repairs are an exclusion, so don’t open a tool you still hope to claim on.
- Compare repair cost with replacement for lower-priced tools, especially cordless kits where the battery may be the real fault.
