Turn on Power saving mode when extra runtime matters more than full background activity or performance. Samsung does not publish Tab S11-specific runtime gains for these settings, so the best changes depend on how you use the tablet.
What battery life to expect from the Galaxy Tab S11
Samsung lists the Wi-Fi Galaxy Tab S11 (SM-X730) with an 8,400 mAh typical battery and up to 18 hours of wireless video playback. These are manufacturer specifications, not a promise of 18 hours in mixed everyday use. Samsung’s UK product listing bases the video figure on internal lab testing; your runtime will vary with brightness, screen-on time, workload, streaming quality, signal strength, location services, and other settings. Change the settings that keep the screen on
Lower brightness
Set brightness to the lowest level that remains comfortable to read, particularly indoors. Samsung identifies higher brightness as a source of increased battery use. Shorten screen timeout
A shorter timeout prevents the display from staying on after you put the tablet down. Open Settings and search for Screen timeout if the menu path differs on your software version. Samsung Canada’s general Galaxy guidance describes options from 15 seconds to 10 minutes and recommends one minute or less to save battery; available choices may vary by model and region. Find and limit background battery use
Check battery usage
Open the battery usage view in Settings and look for apps using an unexpectedly large share of power. An app may be worth investigating if its battery use seems high relative to how much you used it. Put infrequently used apps to sleep
Samsung recommends putting rarely used apps to sleep in the background to limit battery drain. Deep sleep is a stricter option for apps that do not need to run until you open them. Avoid deep-sleeping messaging apps or anything else that must deliver timely notifications; background limits can delay notifications, syncing, or updates. Samsung battery-drain troubleshooting

Use Power saving mode when the trade-off is worthwhile
Turn on Power saving mode when you need to conserve the remaining charge and can accept restrictions on background activity or features. Samsung notes that background activity may be limited, app updates or notifications can be delayed, and performance may change. Consider Light performance mode for everyday use
Samsung’s support guidance describes Light performance mode as favoring battery efficiency and cooling over processing speed during everyday use. It may be a useful middle ground if your software version offers it and you do not need maximum processing performance. The mode’s availability and menu name are not established for every Tab S11 software version, so check Settings rather than assuming it is present.

Match other changes to what is draining the battery
Demanding apps, high-resolution streaming, location services, and weak or overlapping wireless signals can all increase consumption. Start with the usage pattern shown in Battery usage instead of switching off every connection: disabling location or connectivity may save power in some situations, but it can also break features you rely on. Lower streaming quality or close a demanding app when it is not needed if those activities are behind the drain.

A USB-C PD power bank is an optional way to recharge during travel or a long day away from an outlet; it does not extend the tablet’s runtime on its existing charge. Samsung lists USB Type-C and 45 W Super Fast Charging support, but that specification alone does not establish the compatibility or charging speed of a particular third-party power bank. If battery life remains unusually poor
If the tablet still loses charge quickly after you review screen use and background apps, check whether one app is consistently responsible and whether a recent change in your usage explains the difference.
