You can send the stream from a computer or use a cloud service that loops uploaded videos. Neither method guarantees uninterrupted service: copyright checks, connection failures, and YouTube’s archive and monetization policies still matter.
1. Prepare the mantra audio and visual
Decide what viewers will hear: your own mantra recitation, original instrumental music, licensed recordings, or public-domain material. Public-domain status for a composition does not automatically clear a particular recording of it. Confirm rights for both the underlying composition and the actual sound recording, along with any image, animation, or other visual you include.
Make sure the rights cover the intended use worldwide, including livestreaming and any retained archive. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions make the creator responsible for having the necessary rights, including applicable music licensing rights. Keep copies of licenses, permissions, and relevant correspondence; terms may differ by territory and agreement.
A simple static or minimally animated visual can accompany an audio-led stream. You do not need to buy a camera or microphone just to broadcast a prepared recording. Use only visuals you created or are authorized to use.

2. Enable YouTube Live
- Sign in to the YouTube channel you plan to use and complete channel verification if required.
- Check YouTube Studio for live-streaming restrictions. YouTube’s enablement guidance requires no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days.
- If this is the channel’s first time enabling live streaming, allow up to 24 hours for activation. You may need to wait before you can start your broadcast.

3. Choose how to keep the stream running
Local encoder: you operate the computer
A software or hardware encoder sends your prepared audio-and-visual program to YouTube. With a local setup, the computer, encoder, and internet connection must remain available for the broadcast to continue. If the computer sleeps, loses power, or disconnects, the outgoing stream can stop. This approach gives you direct control of the source but makes continuity your responsibility.

Cloud service: the source runs remotely
A cloud service can keep uploaded video playing without leaving a home computer on. YouTube’s encoder and streaming tools directory lists continuous-stream options, including CamStreamer for continuous 24/7 streams and Gyre for cloud-based 24/7 streaming of prerecorded video. Those listings are a starting point, not an endorsement or a guarantee that a service suits every mantra workflow. Check current support for looping your own audio and visuals, formats, recovery behavior, monitoring, stream-key handling, availability, and terms before choosing.

4. Create the YouTube broadcast and connect the encoder
- In YouTube Studio, open Create and select Go live to enter Live Control Room. Create a stream or schedule one, following the current interface prompts.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that broadcast. In your encoder, enter the server URL and key in its YouTube or custom RTMP destination settings.
- Start the encoder or cloud broadcast so YouTube receives the signal. Wait for the preview in Live Control Room and check that the picture and audio are correct.
- When the preview is ready, go live in Live Control Room if the selected workflow requires that final confirmation. Check YouTube’s current encoder setup instructions if the screen labels differ.
Treat the stream key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send a broadcast to your channel. Do not publish it, put it in public screenshots, or share it with an untrusted service. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
5. Test continuity before calling it 24/7
“24/7” describes the intended schedule, not a guarantee that every viewer will have uninterrupted playback. Before relying on the stream, test a complete loop and check that the transition back to the beginning does not create an unwanted silence, abrupt audio jump, black frame, or playback gap.

- Test what happens if the computer or network disconnects, or if the cloud service loses its source.
- Decide how you will notice that YouTube is no longer receiving a signal and who will respond.
- Confirm your recovery procedure by reconnecting and checking the YouTube preview again.
- Monitor the broadcast after launch, especially during the initial run, for audio, visual, and connection problems.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. For a longer-running broadcast, plan how you will end and restart it and manage any recordings in Studio rather than assuming one permanent archive. See the current YouTube live-streaming FAQ for archival details.

YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content. A detected match can prompt a warning, replacement image, interruption, or termination. If you have a license, that alone may not prevent a live interruption: YouTube says the rights owner may also need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights holder about allowlisting before broadcasting licensed material.

If you retain an archive, it may receive a Content ID claim after the livestream ends. Check YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams and address claims through the appropriate YouTube process. A claim or interruption is not resolved simply by describing the stream as meditation or devotional content.
7. Keep monetization separate from uptime
A stream can stay live without being eligible for monetization. YouTube’s monetization policies apply to livestreams. Its policy update dated July 15, 2025 clarified that repetitive or mass-produced material falls under “inauthentic content”; reused material is assessed separately for originality and meaningful added value.
If monetization matters, make the stream distinctly yours through original performance, production, arrangement, visuals, or another meaningful contribution. This can reduce policy risk, but does not guarantee approval for the YouTube Partner Program. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies for the current criteria.
