You can loop a prerecorded Kannada meditation music program into YouTube Live by running FFmpeg on a computer or server that stays online, and sending its output to YouTube’s current ingest URL with your stream key. FFmpeg’s -stream_loop -1 repeats an input indefinitely, while -re paces file input in real time. The command still needs to match your file’s audio and video streams and YouTube’s current encoder settings; a loop flag alone does not create a complete, reliable broadcast.
Before you stream: clear the music and visuals
Do not treat a track as cleared just because it is described as “royalty-free,” traditional, devotional, or Kannada. Confirm that you have permission for every recording, composition, and visual used in the program. Ask for written terms that cover continuous YouTube livestreaming, your intended monetization, archive availability, and territories. These are practical checks, not legal advice; a license’s actual scope depends on its terms.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can replace the broadcast with a placeholder, and a stream may be interrupted or terminated if the material remains. YouTube also warns that a license alone may not prevent interruption: the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. An archived live stream can receive a Content ID claim after it ends. See YouTube’s guidance on live-streaming copyrighted content.
- Get permission for the sound recording and the underlying composition, as applicable, plus any artwork or video.
- Confirm that continuous livestreaming, monetization if planned, and archived playback are covered.
- Ask the relevant rights owner about Content ID allowlisting for your channel, and test before promoting a long-running broadcast.
Prepare the media and host
FFmpeg must remain running and have access to the source files and a reliable internet connection. You can run it on a local computer or a remote server; either way, power, network stability, process supervision, storage access, and restart handling are your responsibility. The official materials do not establish a guaranteed way to keep a 24/7 FFmpeg process uninterrupted.

Check your installed build before writing a command. FFmpeg options and available encoders can vary by version and build; consult the local output of ffmpeg -h and the relevant input or muxer help. The online documentation for FFmpeg may not exactly match an older package installed on your machine.
Identify whether your source is a video file with audio, an audio-only file, or a playlist of files. For audio-only sources, choose a video source too, such as a suitable still-image or visual loop. Make sure the audio and video streams you intend to broadcast are selected and that their formats can be sent to YouTube. The correct mapping and encoding depend on your actual media; there is no single command that is guaranteed to work for every file and FFmpeg build.

Configure YouTube Live
- Create the broadcast. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or configure a live broadcast for the channel. Follow YouTube’s current encoder workflow and copy the server URL and stream key it provides. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
- Protect the key. Treat the stream key like a password. Do not publish it in a script, screenshot, public repository, or log. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube’s controls before continuing.
- Choose compatible output settings. YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS ingest, H.264, H.265, or AV1 video, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate (CBR), and frame rates up to 60 fps. It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. Select the bitrate from YouTube’s current chart for your chosen resolution and frame rate rather than applying a number meant for a different format. YouTube recommends RTMPS: “We recommend streaming to YouTube Live with RTMPS, a secure extension to the popular RTMP streaming video protocol.” See YouTube’s live encoder settings and recommendations.
Build and run the FFmpeg loop
The core input pattern for looping a file is -stream_loop -1 -re -i input-file: the first option repeats the input indefinitely, and -re reads it at its native rate for real-time output. FFmpeg documents these options in its command-line documentation. Add the stream mapping, any needed video source, encoding settings, output format, and the YouTube server URL and key for your broadcast. Do not copy a guessed command as if it were universal: input codecs, stream layout, frame size, frame rate, and the installed FFmpeg build all affect the valid command.
For an audio-only file, supply a video stream as well; for a video file, inspect and explicitly select the intended video and audio streams if the file contains multiple tracks. You can often copy compatible streams without re-encoding, but only if they meet YouTube’s current ingest requirements and the output can be muxed correctly. Otherwise, encode to settings selected from YouTube’s current chart. Confirm the audio is audible and the picture behaves as intended before relying on the setup.

Use the RTMPS server address and key copied from Live Control Room, not a URL taken from an old tutorial. Keep credentials out of shell history and diagnostic output where possible. If a test fails, check your local FFmpeg help, selected streams, output format, and the exact current ingest details in YouTube Studio.
Test, monitor, and plan for interruptions
- Run a representative segment with the same music, visuals, resolution, frame rate, and encoding settings planned for the continuous stream.
- Wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Check that both picture and audio are correct, then review YouTube’s stream-health indicators.
- Monitor the host as well as YouTube: FFmpeg process status, network connectivity, disk access, and available system resources all matter to an always-on setup.
- Decide how you will detect a stopped process or dropped connection and restart it safely. Process supervision and recovery are operator responsibilities; YouTube’s guidance does not promise that a particular FFmpeg command will run continuously without interruption.
- To finish, use the Live Control Room controls to end the broadcast and stop the encoder output, following YouTube’s current workflow.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that one 24-hour broadcast will be archived as a single complete video. Plan archive handling separately and check YouTube’s current behavior for your broadcast.

Common problems and fixes
- No preview or ingest error: Confirm that the server URL and key are the current values from Live Control Room, that the key is private and active, and that FFmpeg is sending a supported output format.
- Video appears without audio, or the wrong track plays: Inspect the input’s streams and correct the mapping. A file can contain multiple audio tracks, or no video stream at all; an audio-only input needs a video source for a conventional live video output.
- Playback is too fast or ends after one pass: Check that the file input uses the real-time pacing and infinite-loop options, and that they are placed before the input they apply to. Verify that the running FFmpeg command is actually reading the intended file.
- Stream health is poor: Match resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, CBR mode, and keyframe interval to YouTube’s current recommendations. Also check the host’s connection and process health; a setting change cannot fix an unstable network or a stopped FFmpeg process.
- Broadcast is interrupted despite having permission: Check YouTube’s copyright notice and contact the relevant rights owner about Content ID allowlisting. A license does not automatically ensure that a live match will be ignored.
