To run a 24/7 Hindi lofi stream from MP4 files, clear the music and visuals for public livestreaming, confirm your YouTube channel is eligible to stream, create an encoder-based broadcast in YouTube Studio, and send it from OBS or a cloud looping service. With OBS, your computer and internet connection must stay available; a cloud service can keep the playback running without a home computer, but neither option grants music rights or guarantees uninterrupted YouTube availability.
Before you start: confirm channel access and content rights
Check that your channel can livestream
YouTube’s current guidance, checked in 2026, says the channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. The minimum age to livestream is 16. Check the channel’s access in YouTube Studio before preparing a launch; eligibility can be account-specific.
Clear the music and artwork
Owning an MP4, buying a track, subscribing to a music service, crediting an artist, or labeling a track “copyright free” does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it publicly. Check the actual license for YouTube livestreaming, your intended territories, monetization, license term, and whether the stream archive may remain available. Confirm the same rights for cover art, backgrounds, and animations.
YouTube says: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match may trigger a warning and placeholder image; if the material remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. If you have a license but the music is managed through Content ID, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its allowlist before going live. Archived streams can receive Content ID claims after the broadcast ends. These checks do not determine whether a particular license covers your use; resolve that with the rights owner.

Prepare the MP4 loop
Inspect the files and transitions
Preview the complete sequence you plan to stream, including the final seconds and restart point. Listen for silence, abrupt volume changes, clipping, or gaps between tracks. Check that the visual loop does not reveal an unintended black frame or abrupt jump. If you are combining separate videos, arrange them in the intended order and test the transition between each one.
Choose a compatible video and audio encode
YouTube’s current encoder guide lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video, and AAC or MP3 audio for RTMP/RTMPS. H.264 video with AAC audio is a practical compatibility choice, not a universal requirement for every MP4 workflow. You do not need to convert an input MP4 solely because OBS uses a different recommended format for its own recordings: OBS’s recording-container advice concerns files OBS creates, not a requirement to re-encode every source video.

If you use OBS to make a separate recording, its documentation says MKV is the default and remains recoverable if a recording is interrupted; standard MP4 needs finalization and is not recommended for direct recording. Fragmented MP4 is another fault-tolerant option. That recording advice is separate from streaming an existing MP4.

Set up a YouTube Live broadcast and OBS
Create the broadcast and protect the stream key
- Open YouTube Studio. Create or schedule an encoder-based live stream in the Live Control Room. YouTube lists encoders as a streaming method for richer video setups.
- Copy the stream destination and key. Enter the destination and key in OBS’s streaming configuration. Treat the stream key like a password: do not put it in a public post, video, screenshot, or shared document. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before broadcasting.
- Use RTMPS where available. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension of RTMP. Select the destination and key provided for the broadcast rather than reusing a key you cannot verify.
Choose encoder settings that fit your connection
YouTube’s encoder guidance checked in 2026 recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval, and says not to exceed four seconds. It lists audio at 44.1 kHz for stereo and 128 kbps stereo audio. Video bitrate recommendations vary by codec, resolution, and frame rate, so choose the matching current YouTube table entry in your encoder rather than treating one bitrate as right for every stream. Your sustained upload capacity must be sufficient for the selected settings; leave headroom for normal connection variation.

- Video codec: H.264, HEVC, or AV1, as supported by your encoder and chosen YouTube workflow.
- Frame rate: up to 60 fps in the cited YouTube guidance; match the source where practical.
- Keyframes: every two seconds recommended; no more than four seconds.
- Rate control: CBR.
- Audio: AAC or MP3; YouTube lists 44.1 kHz stereo and 128 kbps stereo.
- Bitrate: use the current YouTube recommendation for your resolution, frame rate, and codec, and verify the connection can sustain it.
Test before announcing the stream
- Start the encoder and wait for YouTube’s Live Control Room to recognize the incoming feed.
- Check the stream preview for the correct video, movement, and framing; a static image may not reveal a frozen or misbehaving video loop.
- Listen to the stream audio from the preview or another device. Confirm the music is audible, in sync, and not distorted.
- Check stream health and resolve warnings before sharing the public link.
- Start the broadcast through YouTube’s Live Control Room flow, then check it periodically at an interval appropriate to the consequences of an interruption.
Keep the stream running around the clock
Option 1: run OBS on your own computer
For a local stream, the computer hosting OBS must remain powered on, awake, connected to the internet, and running the encoder. The router and home upload connection must also stay available. Disable sleep or hibernation for the streaming period, connect to reliable power, and avoid updates or restarts that could stop the encoder. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring; the cited documentation does not establish automatic recovery by OBS as a default feature.
Plan how you will notice a stopped feed or YouTube policy warning and who can respond. “24/7” describes the intended schedule, not guaranteed uptime. A local setup can be inexpensive if you already have suitable hardware, but electricity, hardware wear, internet reliability, and the need to keep the machine available remain part of the trade-off.

| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not receive the encoder feed | Incorrect destination or stream key, encoder not started, or network problem | Confirm the active broadcast’s destination and key in YouTube Studio, check OBS’s streaming status, and verify internet connectivity. Replace the key if it was exposed. |
| Stream health shows warnings or the feed buffers | The connection may not sustain the chosen video bitrate, or may be unstable | Check the current YouTube recommendation for your codec, resolution, and frame rate; reduce settings if necessary and test sustained upload capacity again. |
| Video plays but there is no music | Audio track missing, muted, routed incorrectly, or unsupported in the workflow | Preview the source in OBS, inspect audio routing and mute controls, then listen to the YouTube preview before starting a public broadcast. |
| A warning or placeholder interrupts the stream | YouTube detected a third-party content match | Review the warning and resolve the rights issue. If you hold a license, contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting; do not assume credit or a purchase is enough. |
| The feed stops after the computer sleeps or reboots | The local host or encoder is no longer running | Keep the host awake, powered, connected, and running OBS; arrange monitoring and a restart plan, or use a cloud loop service. |
| The video freezes or loops with a visible jump | Source file, loop point, or transition problem | Preview the entire sequence and restart point before streaming; replace or edit the problematic segment and test again. |
What a 24/7 stream does—and does not—mean
A continuous broadcast built from prerecorded MP4 files is not a live performance. Streaming the files does not by itself make the channel eligible for monetization or establish earnings. Rights for the music and visuals still matter for the live broadcast and any archive. YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance also notes that archived streams may receive Content ID claims after they end.
