To loop a Hindi news bulletin on YouTube Live, add the recording to an OBS scene as a Media Source, enable Loop, connect OBS to an encoder stream in YouTube Studio with that stream’s URL and key, then test the preview before starting the broadcast. First confirm you have permission to stream and archive every part of the bulletin.

Before you start: check rights and channel eligibility

Confirm permission for the whole bulletin

Check that you have the rights needed to rebroadcast the bulletin’s video, audio, music, clips and graphics, and to keep an archived copy if YouTube retains one. YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. A detected match can lead to a warning, replacement of the picture, interruption or termination of the broadcast. A license alone may not prevent an interruption: the rights owner may also need to allowlist your channel through Content ID. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its livestream terms and conditions. This does not determine whether a particular bulletin or license is cleared in your territory.

Check that your channel can go live

YouTube’s getting-started guidance requires a verified channel without live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so check eligibility and activate live streaming on the channel before planning the broadcast. Requirements can change; confirm the current status in YouTube Studio and YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

Prepare the recording

Keep the source file accessible on the computer running OBS. OBS Media Source documentation lists common formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, TS and WebM; the installed OBS version and system can affect what plays successfully. If the file is on removable storage, make sure that drive stays connected for the entire broadcast.

Set up the bulletin loop in OBS

  1. Create a scene: In OBS, add or select a scene for the bulletin. In the Sources panel, choose + → Media Source. The exact labels or layout can vary by OBS version and operating system.
  2. Select the recording: In the Media Source properties, choose the local video file. Enable Loop, then apply the properties. OBS describes this option as making the file play again after playback has completed. See the OBS Media Sources documentation.
  3. Check the preview and audio: Confirm the picture appears in the OBS preview and the audio meter responds as expected. Let the recording reach its end and verify that playback returns to the beginning. These checks help catch a bad file path, unsupported playback or an unexpected end-of-file stop before viewers see it.
  4. Set the output format: Choose a resolution, frame rate and encoder configuration suitable for the source and your connection. Use YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrate and resolution recommendations rather than guessing a bitrate; the appropriate values depend on the selected output. OBS and YouTube labels may differ by version.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live

  1. Open Live Control Room: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. Create an encoder stream or select an existing one. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the current workflow.
  2. Copy the stream URL and key: In the stream settings, copy the server/stream URL and stream key into OBS’s stream settings. YouTube uses these to route the encoder feed to your event. Treat the key like a password: do not include it in a screenshot, tutorial or public post. Consult YouTube’s live stream settings guidance for the current controls.
  3. Choose visibility and event details: Set the title, description, audience and visibility deliberately in YouTube Studio. Use an unlisted test if you need to check access without making the broadcast public; confirm the intended audience can open the stream before the real bulletin.
  4. Start the encoder and inspect YouTube’s preview: Start streaming from OBS and wait for the feed to appear in Live Control Room. Check the picture, sound and stream-health notices. A successful OBS connection does not by itself prove that the viewer-facing stream is healthy.
  5. Go live only after the check: When the preview and stream health are acceptable, start the YouTube broadcast. Monitor OBS playback and YouTube’s health indicators while the bulletin loops.

Monitor the live loop and end the broadcast cleanly

During the event, watch for a stopped or frozen Media Source, missing audio, OBS disconnection, YouTube stream-health warnings and copyright notices. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; plan for the recording’s rights and retention accordingly. When finished, stop the encoder in OBS and end the live stream in YouTube Studio as appropriate. YouTube’s live streaming tips and encoder guidance cover testing and monitoring.

Troubleshooting

  • The recording does not appear in OBS: Reopen the Media Source properties and confirm the selected file path still exists and the drive is mounted. Try a format supported by the installed OBS setup if the file will not play.
  • The video plays once and stops: Open that source’s properties and verify Loop is enabled. Test through the end of the file again before connecting to YouTube.
  • The preview has picture but no sound: Check the OBS audio meter while the file plays and confirm the source is not muted. If there is no meter activity, verify the file’s audio track and playback settings before going live.
  • YouTube receives no feed: Check that OBS is using the correct stream URL and key for the selected YouTube encoder event, and that the encoder has been started. If the key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube and update OBS.
  • The stream connects but YouTube reports poor health: Check YouTube’s stream-health messages and compare OBS’s output configuration with YouTube’s current encoder recommendations. Adjust resolution, frame rate or bitrate to a configuration your connection can sustain.
  • The live feed is interrupted after a copyright match: Review YouTube’s notice and resolve the rights issue with the relevant owner. Do not assume a license prevents Content ID interruption; ask the owner about allowlisting the channel where applicable.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your goal is a continuing YouTube channel rather than a one-time OBS session, StreamNeo plays uploaded videos from the cloud: upload the bulletin, add your YouTube stream key, then go live. Nothing has to stay on at home, and the stream can recover automatically if YouTube drops it. Any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps streams as made at one price per slot, with the first day free and no card required. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. Confirm your rights for both the live stream and any archive before uploading. Start the free first day.
