To log in to Sentara MyChart, start at Sentara’s official MyChart page and select the sign-in option, or open the Sentara app and choose MyChart sign-in. Use the same Sentara MyChart username and password on both. If you cannot access your account, use the official recovery links or call Sentara MyChart Support.
How do I log in to Sentara MyChart on the web?
- Open Sentara’s official Sentara MyChart page and choose the sign-in link.
- On the Sentara account sign-in page, enter your MyChart username and password, then submit. The official page also provides links to recover a forgotten username or password: Sentara account sign-in.
- If Sentara asks for a security code, complete that step as described below.
For safety, begin from Sentara’s official website rather than a search advertisement or an unfamiliar link. Check that the destination is a Sentara address and uses HTTPS; HTTPS alone does not prove a page is genuine. Sentara’s account terms also warn that repeated failed sign-in attempts can block access.
How do I sign in to Sentara MyChart on my phone?
- Install or open the Sentara app using the Apple App Store or Google Play links provided from Sentara’s official MyChart page.
- Choose the MyChart sign-in option in the app.
- Enter the same Sentara MyChart username and password you use on the web, then follow any security-code prompt.
If the app reports a sign-in error, Sentara recommends checking that the app is current and that your credentials are up to date. Use the Forgot Password option in the sign-in flow if you need to reset your password.
What if I forgot my Sentara MyChart username or password?
Use the recovery links on Sentara’s sign-in page or follow the instructions in Sentara’s MyChart help and FAQs.

Recover a username
Choose Forgot Username and provide the identity details requested so Sentara can match you to the account. Sentara emails the username to the address on file. The username is permanent and cannot be changed.
Reset a password
Choose Forgot Password and enter your username and date of birth. Sentara sends a reset link to the email address on file. If the message does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder; Sentara says delivery can sometimes take an hour or more.

Why is Sentara MyChart asking for a code?
Sentara may require multi-factor authentication (MFA) after you enter your username and password. It sends a security code by text or email to the contact method selected for the account. Enter that passcode in the prompt. Sentara’s FAQ says a code is valid for 10 minutes and a trusted-device choice lasts 30 days; these are changeable account settings, so check Sentara’s current guidance if the prompt behaves differently.

- If a code does not arrive, wait a few minutes and check your spam or junk folder for an email.
- If you recently changed your phone number or email address, Sentara says the new contact details may take up to 24 hours to become available for MFA.
What if I have never activated a MyChart account?
Account creation is different from troubleshooting a failed login. Sentara says a recent appointment may trigger an instant activation email or text. If you do not have an activation code, use the sign-up flow and complete identity verification. Sentara’s sign-up page says processing and verification may take up to a week; if approved, Sentara sends an activation code and instructions. Do not assume that a new account will be created immediately.
What should I try if the Sentara MyChart website will not load?
For a page that fails to load or repeatedly asks you to sign in, Sentara suggests these browser checks. They are troubleshooting steps, not guaranteed fixes, and Sentara says it does not provide browser support.

- Try a different browser or restart your computer.
- Refresh the page. Sentara’s desktop instructions specify Ctrl+F5 for a forced refresh.
- Clear the browser cache and make sure cookies and pop-ups are allowed.
- Remove old MyChart favorites or bookmarks, then return to Sentara’s official website and open the portal again.

For login or account-access problems, call Sentara MyChart Support at 1-833-351-4357, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Sentara says account-access requests submitted through its general online form will be directed to call for security reasons. For other technical issues that do not involve account access, Sentara’s FAQ points to its online support form.
