Register through Battlefy by 9:30 a.m. PT that day; the initial bracket starts at 10:00 a.m. PT, and the Top 4 are scheduled to play in a livestream beginning at 1:00 p.m. PT. The tournament is open to eligible legal residents of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. No purchase is necessary, but entrants need access to a Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Tennis Fever.
Who can enter?
Nintendo of America’s 2026 event announcement sets eligibility by legal residence and age:
- United States, including the District of Columbia: age 13 or older.
- Canada: age 13 or older.
- Mexico: age 18 or older.
You also need access to a Nintendo Switch 2 system and Mario Tennis Fever, a Nintendo Account, reliable high-speed internet, and any Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo says no purchase is necessary; the access requirements do not mean you must buy the game or console to enter. [Nintendo event announcement]
How to register
- Open the Mario Tennis Fever Open registration page on Battlefy.
- Complete the registration form. Nintendo says it may request your full name, home address (no P.O. boxes), phone number, date of birth, email address, in-game name, 12-digit Nintendo Switch Friend Code, Nintendo Account email, and Nintendo Account User Support Number.
- Submit your entry before 9:30 a.m. PT on October 24, 2026. Registration opens October 5, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. PT.
Have the requested account and contact details available before filling out the form. The sponsor is Nintendo of America Inc.

The main competition is one-on-one, best-of-three, single elimination until four players remain. The Top 4 then play a double-elimination bracket that Nintendo says will be livestreamed. The announcement does not name the streaming platform or provide a viewing link.
Match settings
Nintendo lists these settings for both brackets: singles, all characters and Fever Rackets allowed, one Fever Racket, Extended Play, one set, two games, tiebreaker enabled, private match, Stadium Court (Grass), and Standard Ball.

Nintendo gives the total approximate retail value of all packages as $1,931.53 USD. Potential winners will be notified within 10 days after the tournament. The announcement states that “Skill of participating players determines the winner(s).”
