To install a Samsung 12 kg front-load washer, use the manual for your exact model and the country where it will operate: remove the rear shipping bolts, connect the water and drain lines as specified, level the cabinet, follow local electrical requirements, then run the manual’s recommended test. A 12 kg capacity does not identify one universal installation; bolt positions, connections, clearances and controls vary by model and market.
For example, Samsung India lists the WW12DG6B24AS as a 12.0 kg front-loader and provides user manual DC68-04532A-03, modified March 27, 2026. That is an example, not a claim about your machine. Find your washer’s full model code on its label and get its matching manual before connecting it.
Before you start: check the model, location and supplies
Choose a firm, level, dry location with airflow. Keep the washer away from freezing temperatures, direct sunlight and heat sources. Check the exact manual for required clearances, floor conditions and any country-specific installation rules; Samsung’s general guidance is not a substitute for the instructions for your model. Samsung’s installation overview and its India support page for the WW12DG6B24AS illustrate why model and market matter.
Have the supplied wrench and plastic bolt-hole covers ready, along with new water-supply hoses of the correct connector type and length. Confirm that the plumbing and outlet match the washer’s manual. If the installation is above ground level, consult the manual and local requirements about a washer pan. Samsung US says a pan is required for above-ground-floor installations and recommends low-profile pans for front-load models; choose one that fits the appliance and does not block pump-filter access. See Samsung US installation guidance.

Remove the shipping bolts before using the washer
Shipping bolts secure the drum during transport. Leaving them in can cause severe vibration and damage. Samsung US states: “Before using your front load washing machine, you must remove the shipping bolts from the back.”
- Find the bolts on the back of the washer and remove every one specified by the model manual, using the supplied wrench.
- Fit the supplied plastic covers into the exposed holes.
- Keep the bolts and any spacers together in a safe place in case the washer needs to be moved.
The number and placement of bolts differ by model, so use the manual rather than assuming that another 12 kg washer has the same arrangement. Samsung’s installation instructions cover this step.

Connect the water-supply hoses
Use new hoses and verify that they fit both the washer’s inlets and your plumbing. Samsung US says brand-new supply hoses are needed when installing a washer. Check that each hose’s rubber gasket is present before attaching it.
For a US installation, Samsung’s instructions say to hand-tighten each connection until snug, then tighten an additional two-thirds of a turn with a wrench. They also advise against over-tightening and against using tape or sealant on the connections. Flush the hoses into a bucket for 10–15 seconds before connecting them, match hot and cold hoses to the labeled inlets, then turn on the water and check for leaks. These details are US guidance, not universal specifications; follow the exact washer manual and local plumbing requirements if they differ. See Samsung US hose and installation instructions.

Route and secure the drain hose
Use a receiving point allowed by the washer manual and local plumbing rules, such as an approved basin, standpipe or laundry tub. The hose must be supported and free of kinks, and its height and insertion depth matter: incorrect routing can lead to drainage errors, leaks, odors or siphoning.
For Samsung US installations, the stated height is 24–35 inches from the floor when the hose drains over a wash basin. For a standpipe or laundry tub, the stated height is 39–96 inches; insert the hose 6–8 inches and do not seal the standpipe connection airtight. Secure the hose with its guide. These dimensions are specific to Samsung US guidance; use the model manual and local instructions when they call for something different. Details are in Samsung US installation guidance.

Level the washer and check its feet
Adjust the feet until all of them touch the floor and the cabinet does not rock. Check the washer with a level, then secure the feet as directed by the manual. Samsung Australia advises tightening the clamp nuts after leveling and warns against forcing the washer, which can damage the feet. Make sure no foot presses on the power cord. See Samsung Australia’s leveling guidance.
Connect power according to the local manual
Follow the exact model’s requirements for voltage, outlet, grounding and circuit. Electrical specifications are not interchangeable across countries, so do not apply US values to an installation elsewhere. If the available outlet or wiring does not match the manual, stop and have a qualified electrician assess it rather than using an adapter or extension arrangement that the manual does not permit.

Run the initial test, then calibrate only if required
Before normal laundry, verify that the washer fills, spins and drains, and inspect the water connections and drain route while it runs. Samsung US’s example test is an empty Rinse + Spin cycle without detergent or cleaner. Check for leaks, unusual vibration and displayed error codes; if anything is abnormal, stop and consult the model manual before continuing. See Samsung’s installation guidance.
Calibration is not available on every model, and the required operating state and button sequence can vary. Do not use a sequence simply because it appears on another washer. Samsung’s US support example uses an empty drum, holding Temp. and Delay End for three seconds, then pressing Start/Pause; use it only if your exact manual or support page specifies the same controls and procedure. The model manual is the authority if the buttons differ.
Quick Recap
If the new washer shakes or will not drain
- Excessive shaking: Confirm that every shipping bolt was removed and that all feet are planted firmly, the washer does not rock, and the floor is stable.
- Drainage trouble, odors or siphoning: Check the hose height, insertion depth, support and kinks against the model manual and applicable local plumbing instructions.
- Water at a connection: Turn off the water supply, inspect the hose ends and gaskets, then reconnect according to the manual. Do not overtighten.
- Error code or abnormal cycle: Stop the test and look up the code and required recovery steps in the exact model manual; do not assume a calibration procedure will fix an installation problem.
