What you need to know before starting
Sony lists Bloodborne as a PlayStation 4 game, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and released on March 24, 2015. The official US PlayStation Store listing is for the PS4 version, not a native PC edition: Sony’s Bloodborne page and the US PlayStation Store listing.
For PC, the relevant route is shadPS4, an early PlayStation 4 emulator for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Its project README says it can successfully run games including Bloodborne, while cautioning: “shadPS4 is early in development, don’t expect a flawless experience.” That is the project’s own status statement, not an independent test or a guarantee that the game will work well on every computer. How to install and run Bloodborne with shadPS4
Emulator setup and compatibility can change between releases. Use the project’s live guidance rather than relying on an old walkthrough, third-party mirror, or instructions for a different build.

- Check current compatibility. Open the project’s game-compatibility resource and look up Bloodborne. Read the current notes for the build and configuration you intend to use; a compatibility listing is not a promise of identical results on every system.
- Get shadPS4 through the project’s official links. Start at the shadPS4 project site and use its download links. The project’s website listed shadPS4 v0.19.0, released October 1, 2026, at the time of the information cited here; check the site for a newer release before installing.
- Follow the current Quickstart. The project README links end users to its Quickstart documentation and distinguishes the emulator core from the QtLauncher graphical interface. Follow the current instructions for your operating system and use the interface and configuration steps the project currently supports. Do not assume that an older guide’s menu labels or file layout still apply.
- Configure a legitimate game copy as documented. Use the project’s current guidance for adding and configuring the PS4 game. This article does not provide game files or instructions for obtaining them from unofficial sources. The Sony listing confirms the PS4 product, but it does not establish a particular extraction method or settle legal requirements.
- Launch and troubleshoot using current project guidance. If the game does not start or behaves unexpectedly, check the compatibility notes and Quickstart for the shadPS4 version you installed. Avoid treating another user’s settings or result as a universal fix.
Hardware, compatibility, and legal considerations
There is no established Bloodborne-specific minimum specification here
The available project information does not establish one hardware configuration or reliable minimum PC specification for Bloodborne. Check shadPS4’s current documentation and compatibility reports against your operating system and hardware before buying upgrades; general emulator requirements do not guarantee this particular game will run acceptably.
Compatibility can change with emulator updates
The project’s website listed shadPS4 v0.19.0 on October 1, 2026, but compatibility is version-sensitive and the live Bloodborne entry should be checked directly. No fixed frame rate, stability level, or universal compatibility grade can be promised from the project’s general statement that the game can run.

Check applicable rules for game and system files
