Which fan-made P.T. project are you downloading?
“Fan-made P.T. port” can refer to different projects. Before downloading, check the project title, creator, platform and exact filename on its creator-hosted page. Do not assume that instructions or files for one recreation apply to another.

What itch.io’s app and signature information does—and doesn’t—verify
itch.io explains that its app can install games from their in-app pages and distinguish downloads compatible with the user’s platform in its platform documentation. This describes how the app presents and installs downloads; it is not a malware scan of a game archive.
Likewise, itch.io’s Windows installation documentation discusses digital signatures on itch’s own app installers. That statement applies to itch’s installers, not automatically to third-party games hosted on itch.io. Do not treat the platform’s app or its signature as verification of this P.T. file.

When to stop instead of improvising
- The page’s creator, title, platform or filename does not match the project you intended to download.
- A browser or Windows security warning appears and you cannot resolve why.
- The download came from an unrelated mirror, or its origin is unclear.
- The archive’s included instructions are absent, unexpected or unclear.
