How to reach White Wastes Sanctuary
Recommended route from Hernand
IGN’s route starts at the Abyss Nexus west of Thalwynd in Hernand. Head north toward Five-Finger Mountain. According to IGN, reaching an out-of-bounds area moves you near Whisperleaf Fortress; from there, continue northwest to White Wastes Sanctuary. At the sanctuary, use Lantern or Blinding Flash to locate its Abyss Nexus, then travel northwest to the skeleton. These are guide-reported directions, not a guarantee that every player’s route will behave identically.
- Travel to the Abyss Nexus west of Thalwynd in Hernand.
- Head north toward Five-Finger Mountain and continue until the out-of-bounds transition moves you near Whisperleaf Fortress.
- Go northwest to White Wastes Sanctuary.
- Use Lantern or Blinding Flash to find the sanctuary’s Abyss Nexus, then head northwest to the skeleton.
- Use Visione in front of the hole, walk up to the sword, and interact with it.
Approaching through Pailune
An eastern approach through Pailune is another possibility, but IGN warns that it can be difficult before Chapter 7 because of dangerous enemies and a mountain in the way. PowerPyx says the location can be reached from the start of the game, while noting the long ride and climbing involved. Taken together, these guides suggest early access may be possible, but the difficulty depends on your route and story progress.
