Call of Duty’s June 6, 2026 Modern Warfare 4 DMZ overview describes a high-stakes extraction mode in the Hajin Exclusion Zone. Players can deploy solo or with a squad, pursue valuable loot, face changing threats, and build match-to-match progression. Gear and rewards remain at risk during an operation until successful extraction.
The announced activity types are Story Missions, Dynamic Operations, and self-directed exploration or player-driven encounters. The overview does not publish a definitive contract list or explain precise activity steps. It also does not establish that the original Warzone 2.0 contract system carries over.

- Review your Operator. At the Operators station, check status and select an Operator ready to deploy.
- Set up your Stash and Loadout. Manage stored weapons and gear, and offload extracted items you expect to need on later deployments, as the official intel guide advises.
- Choose an objective before you leave. Pick a Story Mission or Dynamic Operation, or decide to explore and respond to encounters as they arise. The overview names these options but does not provide detailed task instructions.
Which activity should you choose?
The official overview identifies the available activity styles, but does not give exact difficulty ratings, payout amounts, or step-by-step objectives. Use the descriptions below as a way to choose your approach, not as a ranking of risk or reward.

What does “contracts” mean in older DMZ guides?
Many detailed contract walkthroughs refer to the original Warzone 2.0 DMZ, whose mechanics are historical context rather than instructions for MW4. Official 2022 materials described faction missions selected before a match, in-match contracts for cash or rewards, optional world activities, and helicopter extraction at marked locations. Those sources also documented faction rosters and backpack behavior for that earlier version.
Do not assume those contract categories, mission selection steps, backpack rules, or extraction procedures apply in the announced MW4 mode. The MW4 overview does not confirm that legacy systems return.

How does extraction work in MW4 DMZ?
Extraction is the objective that lets you leave an operation with what you have secured; until it succeeds, loot and resources remain exposed to the operation’s risks. The official overview does not specify extraction point locations, how to call an extraction, timing, or the exact penalty for failing to extract.
That means a button-by-button extraction walkthrough cannot yet be given accurately from the published overview. Check the current in-game instructions or official player guidance when the mode is available rather than relying on the 2022 helicopter procedure.

- How to access the mode and whether it is currently playable.
- The available contract or activity list, if contracts are part of the final mode.
- Extraction locations, call-in steps, timing, and failure consequences.
Those specifics are not established in the cited MW4 overview, so avoid treating older DMZ guides as current operational instructions.
