Dungeon Munchies 2 is planned to launch in Steam Early Access in November 2026. The Steam store page lists November 5, while the developer’s announcement archive says “11/6,” so check the game’s Steam page on launch day for confirmed availability. The first build is planned to include the opening story chapter, described by the developer as about two to three hours of gameplay.
How to get started
- Wishlist the game on Steam. Visit the Dungeon Munchies 2 Steam page and use its wishlist option to follow the listing and check for availability.
- Check your computer against the sequel’s requirements. Compare your operating system and processor with the minimums below; the sequel’s requirements differ from those of the original game.
- Check the date, price, and availability on launch day. The store page is the place to confirm whether the game is available in your region. The reviewed listing did not show a regional price or exact unlock time.
- Buy and install it through Steam once it is available. Launch the game from your Steam library after installation. A Discord account is not stated as a requirement to play.
When is Dungeon Munchies 2 coming out?
As of October 7, 2026, the game is not yet available on Steam. Its product page lists a planned release date of November 5, 2026, while the developer’s official announcement archive includes an “11/6 Dungeon Munchies 2 Early Access” announcement. Those official sources differ by one day; neither establishes an exact unlock hour. Verify the Steam product page when the release is due rather than assuming one date resolves the discrepancy.
What the Early Access build includes
The developer says the initial Early Access version contains the first story chapter and about two to three hours of gameplay. That is the developer’s estimate of the opening build, not a guarantee of playtime for every player or a description of the finished game.
Planned development after launch
The developer plans to add further story chapters and, for the full release, more levels, character abilities, enemies, and story content, while addressing bugs and design issues and polishing the game. It estimates Early Access could last roughly as long as development of the first Dungeon Munchies—about two to three years. That is an estimate, not a scheduled full-release date, and the developer says features may change during development.
#1 Best Overall
- With 40 Dungeons to choose from, every game will be different. Very different.
- Now the same size (and price) as the other numbered Munchkin expansions.
- The cards in this set also work well with Munchkin Shakespeare and Munchkin legends, and many will work with any set using the original fantasy Munchkin card design.
- Number of players: 3-6
How feedback fits in
The developer says it will primarily collect feedback through Steam Community and Discord, while also monitoring opinions across other platforms. These are feedback channels; the developer does not say players must join Discord to access or play the game.
What kind of game is it?
Steam describes Dungeon Munchies 2 as a side-scrolling action RPG and sequel. You play a zombie chef exploring a ruined space colony, fighting alien creatures and cooking them into dishes.

In the developer’s description, the sequel adds randomly dropped abilities alongside story-based character growth. It also introduces classes in place of the original’s weapon system, with four skill slots per class. A further stat-growth system lets players strengthen their character through farming. These are descriptions of planned mechanics, not independent assessments of balance or difficulty.
Do you need to play the first game?
The sequel’s story picks up from the ending of the first Dungeon Munchies, so playing the original may give you useful context. The sequel’s listing does not say that owning or completing the original is required. The original game’s Steam page describes its core loop as hunting creatures, cooking them, and eating dishes to gain abilities.
