To get Ava’s Accumulator in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, complete Manktongue’s “Animal Magnetism” quest in the Fractured Plains. Bring him an Undead Chicken, an Undead Twig Bundle, and a Magnetised Iron Bar; completing the quest grants the Accumulator and its crafting recipe.
What you need before you start
The quest is a component-gathering task, and the walkthrough updated September 22, 2026, reports no boss fight. Before setting out, plan to gather the three quest items and the materials for the Magnetised Iron Bar:
- One Undead Chicken
- One Undead Twig Bundle
- One Iron Bar and five Law Runes, used to make the Magnetised Iron Bar
Bring an Iron Bar and five Law Runes to the rooftop workbench during the quest; they are not a substitute for the three components Manktongue requests. The September 22, 2026 walkthrough does not give grid coordinates, so use the named regions and landmarks rather than relying on an unverified coordinate.
Start Animal Magnetism with Manktongue
Find Manktongue in a ruined stone building near the southwest edge of the Fractured Plains, north of Whispering Swamp. Accept his request, then interact with the Advert-in-a-Bottle beside him. It identifies the required components as the Undead Chicken, Magnetised Iron Bar, and Undead Twig Bundle.

Collect the three components
Undead Chicken
Search the cliffside in the Stormtouched Highlands near iron ore nodes. Collect the Undead Chicken there.
Undead Twig Bundle
In Bloodblight Swamp, find the large glowing Undead Tree and interact with it to obtain the bundle.

Magnetised Iron Bar
- Gather Iron Ore and smelt it into an Iron Bar. Keep five Law Runes as well.
- Return to Manktongue’s ruin and climb the exterior stairs to Pulpknuckle’s rooftop workbench.
- At the workbench, hand over one Iron Bar and five Law Runes to receive the Magnetised Iron Bar.
Turn in the items and claim the reward
Return to Manktongue with all three components: the Undead Chicken, Undead Twig Bundle, and Magnetised Iron Bar. Completing Animal Magnetism awards Ava’s Accumulator and its crafting recipe.
What Ava’s Accumulator does
The Accumulator equips in the usual cape slot. It improves the chance that ranged ammunition is recovered and automatically gathers recovered ammunition from farther away. Recovery is chance-based, so an arrow or other shot ammunition will not return every time. Dragonwilds Codex lists an additional arrow-recovery chance of +10%, along with melee, ranged, and magic defense of 2 each, weight 0, and stack limit 1. These are database values, not a guarantee for every current game build.

Craft a replacement after unlocking it
After completing the quest and learning the recipe, craft a replacement at an Armour Bench. The fan reference lists these materials per Accumulator:

The same reference lists Iron Bars as requiring three Iron Ore and Law Runes as requiring Rune Essence. Padded Cloth has a longer chain involving Rough Cloth and Wool Cloth, with Coarse Thread made from Flax and Wool Thread from Fleece. The recipe and item values are patch-sensitive: Dragonwilds Codex marks them verified for version 0.12.1 on August 31, 2026. Check the in-game recipe in your current build if a listed quantity or crafting step differs.

Check that Auto-Magnetise World Items is enabled. The walkthrough identifies this as the first setting to check. A community Reddit post reproducing the version 0.11.1 update notes also lists disabled Auto-Magnetise World Items as a known cause of failed arrow collection: the community repost of the 0.11.1 notes.

Keep the game versions straight
This is the Dragonwilds quest and item: Manktongue, the Fractured Plains, its named materials, and the Armour Bench recipe belong to RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Do not use instructions for the similarly named RuneScape or Old School RuneScape item; their acquisition details are not the Dragonwilds quest route.
