Pinterest documents an API operation for listing Pins on a specific board, but its developer documentation does not establish a one-click consumer feature for downloading every Pin’s image or video file. The API returns structured Pin data; saving media files is a separate task.
Choose what you mean by “get all Pins”
Pinterest says that “Pins are saved on boards.” A board may also contain sections, so the right method depends on whether you want Pin records or actual media files, and whether the board has sections. Pinterest’s boards-and-Pins guide documents separate operations for listing Pins on a board and listing Pins in a board section.

Use Pinterest’s API to retrieve Pins from a board
For a technically comfortable user, the documented route is Pinterest’s board-scoped Pin-list operation in its boards-and-Pins API guide. The API returns JSON records. Pinterest’s separate API call guide illustrates GET /v5/pins for Pins associated with an account; that account-level example is not the board-specific operation.
Prerequisites
- A Pinterest app connected to the relevant account and approved for API access.
- A recently created access token, as required by the official API call guide’s sample.
- Read access for boards and Pins. Pinterest’s board guide identifies the
boards:readandpins:readscopes.
Account for sections and pagination
If the board contains sections and you mean every Pin associated with it, account for Pinterest’s separate operation to list Pins in a board section. The documentation cited here does not establish the board-Pins endpoint’s complete pagination contract, so do not assume one request returns every result or rely on an unverified page size or cursor parameter. Check the live endpoint reference and response, then follow its documented pagination behavior if provided.

Pinterest’s API quickstart includes examples involving boards and Pins, but those examples do not establish the board-Pins endpoint’s pagination semantics. Verify the current endpoint and authorization requirements for your app and account before building a complete retrieval workflow.

Retrieving Pin records through the API does not itself mean you have downloaded each Pin’s image or video file. The official documentation covered here does not verify a consumer-facing “download every Pin” button or a complete official board-to-files export procedure. If your goal is local media files rather than structured records, do not treat the API listing operation as a bulk file downloader.

These sources also do not verify third-party downloaders or scraping extensions, including whether they capture every item or preserve original media, metadata, and links. Avoid assuming that a tool can produce a complete, faithful archive without checking its behavior and applicable Pinterest rules.
