To get a Turkish IP address, connect to a VPN server located in Turkey. Choose a VPN that currently offers Turkish servers, select Turkey in its app, connect, and check your apparent location. A Turkish endpoint changes the apparent location of your connection, but it does not guarantee that a particular website or streaming service will accept it.
Connect to a VPN server in Turkey
- Choose a VPN with a Turkey server. Check the provider’s current server list before signing up; locations can change. Proton VPN is one example whose official page says it offers Turkey servers: Proton VPN’s Turkey server information. This is an example, not a comparison or ranking of providers.
- Install and open the VPN app. Sign in if the provider requires it. The documented setup uses a VPN app; no special router or physical accessory is established as necessary.
- Select Turkey and connect. Choose Turkey on the app’s map or location list. Proton VPN says its app can connect to the fastest Turkish server for the user’s location.
- Check your apparent location. Use an IP-location checking service after connecting. The VPN provider describes traffic routed through a Turkey server as appearing to come from Turkey; this is the provider’s description, not an independent performance test.
Check whether the website recognizes the Turkish location
A location check can confirm what country an IP lookup reports, but the target website may still detect or decline a VPN connection. Netflix notes that VPN use can affect the content shown, and that VPNs are unsupported for live events and its ad-supported experience. Its guidance does not establish that any particular Turkish VPN server will unlock a particular catalog.
If you are troubleshooting Netflix, follow its location check: visit Fast.com on the affected network, select “Show more info,” and inspect the country shown next to “Client.” Netflix also provides guidance for cases where it thinks you are in a different country: Netflix Help Center: Netflix thinks I’m in a different country.
