For a secure, comfortable OpenRun Pro 2 fit, choose the size using Shokz’s ear-to-ear measurement, then wear the frame behind your head with the transducers at your temples. Shokz recommends Standard above 9.25 inches (23.5 cm) and Mini below that measurement; comfort can still vary from person to person.
How should OpenRun Pro 2 fit?
The OpenRun Pro 2 is an open-ear headset: its frame sits behind your head, with the transducers resting at your temples and the hooks around your ears. Shokz describes its ergonomic ear hooks, unibody frame, and integrated Ni-Ti alloy memory wire as design features intended to support stable, comfortable wear. That design intent does not guarantee the same fit for every wearer.
Shokz also says it reduced clamping force by 16% and expanded the core contact area by 4° to distribute pressure. These are manufacturer-reported design claims, not independently measured fit results. See Shokz’s OpenRun Pro 2 product page.
How do I measure for Shokz OpenRun Pro 2?
- Use a soft measuring tape. A flexible tape is what Shokz specifies; you do not need to buy one if you already have a suitable tape.
- Start at the center of one ear, take the tape around the back of your head, and finish at the center of the other ear.
- Compare the measurement with Shokz’s 9.25-inch (23.5 cm) threshold in its OpenRun Pro 2 size guidance.
How do I choose Standard or Mini?
| Measured ear-to-ear distance | Shokz recommendation |
|---|---|
| Above 9.25 in (23.5 cm) | Standard |
| Below 9.25 in (23.5 cm) | Mini |
| Exactly 9.25 in (23.5 cm) | Shokz does not state which size to choose at the threshold; consult its size guide or support, or try both sizes if possible. |
The Mini has a shorter band than the Standard, according to a Tom’s Guide review published August 5, 2025. Treat the measurement as Shokz’s starting recommendation rather than a guarantee: the available guidance does not establish how either size will fit a particular head shape.

Why does my Shokz headset feel too tight or loose?
First, check that the frame is behind your head and the transducers are positioned at your temples. Then assess comfort and stability during gentle movement. If the headset persistently pinches, shifts, or feels uncomfortable, reconsider whether the other size better matches Shokz’s measurement guidance instead of forcing the fit.
The cited review describes the headset as not adjustable. The available product guidance does not validate bending or reshaping the frame as a fit adjustment, so do not rely on that as a way to correct pressure or looseness. Fit with glasses, particular hairstyles, or individual ear placement is not established by the available sources.
