For the most current official update, check the NBA’s injury-report page, find the player’s team and game, then check again closer to tipoff. The NBA says reports are updated continually, so an earlier listing is not a guarantee of whether a player will play.
Where to find an NBA player’s injury status
Start with the official NBA injury report
Open the NBA Official injury-report page and locate the player’s team and upcoming game. The report lists the player, a status designation, and the injury or other reason reported by the team. It is the league’s collected report for NBA games; teams are required to report injuries, illnesses, other medical conditions, or rest.
Use the NBA app for player updates
The NBA App is another official option if you want updates for favorite teams and players alongside news, scores, schedules, standings, and game tracking. The NBA Help Center article, updated August 20, 2026, describes player updates but does not specifically promise injury-status push notifications. For a listed injury status, check the official report itself.

Read the listed status and reason. Treat the entry as the team’s reported information at that time, not as a guarantee that the player will appear or sit.

Note when you checked, then return to the report later—especially as tipoff approaches. NBA Official says, “Reports are updated on a continual basis throughout the day.”

When NBA injury reports are submitted
The timing below comes from the NBA’s 2025-26 injury-report page. It should not be treated as a verified 2026-27 policy: a corresponding 2026-27 deadline page has not been confirmed.

These are submission windows, not a promise that a player’s status will remain unchanged after the report appears. The NBA says reports are updated continually, so check the official report again rather than relying on an earlier snapshot.

What an injury listing can—and cannot—tell you
A status entry tells you what the team reported at the time it was published. Because the NBA updates reports continually, the information can change. The listing alone does not guarantee that the player will play or be unavailable; look for a later official update before making a decision based on availability.
