Identify your Titanfall 2 VR project first
Two separate projects appear in current setup instructions, and their files and launch methods are not interchangeable. Check the project name and its own README before following a troubleshooting step.

Do not copy a plugin location, command, runtime choice, or update step from one project to the other unless that project’s current documentation specifies it.
Check the setup before diagnosing a crash
For TinyBlkDog’s plugin, verify that Titanfall 2 launches through Northstar, the required OpenXR runtime is selected, and the plugin files are in the Northstar plugins directory. The project’s repository describes Virtual Desktop’s VDXR as its test environment; that is not a universal runtime requirement for every headset or setup. For CircuitLord’s installer, use its own launch flow and runtime directions instead.

- Confirm the game starts through the mod’s intended launcher or profile.
- Check that the selected OpenXR runtime matches the instructions for your project and headset setup.
- Make sure the mod’s files are installed in the location specified by that project—not simply in a folder that looks plausible.
If the game crashes before reaching VR, first establish whether the base game and the intended Northstar profile launch correctly. Avoid changing multiple runtime or installation settings at once; otherwise, it becomes harder to identify which change mattered.
Improve poor performance in TinyBlkDog’s mod
Adjust Resolution in the in-headset settings
TinyBlkDog’s project documentation gives a default Resolution of 75% for version v0.1.1 in the repository state described in 2026. The README says the mod does not measure the user’s GPU capacity, so this default is intended to accommodate a card that may not be fast. It recommends lowering Resolution when frame rate is poor, or raising it when the image looks soft and frame rate remains fine.

- Open the mod’s settings panel in the headset.
- Change Resolution: lower it to address poor frame rate, or raise it cautiously if frame rate is stable and the image looks soft.
- Close the settings panel for the change to take effect.
- Test the same scene again and note the Resolution value when comparing results.
The controls reference describes 72 settings across 8 categories, but Resolution is the documented first adjustment for poor performance. The project also describes alternate-frame stereo and occasional frame spikes, so a brief hitch alone does not prove that the GPU is underpowered. Record whether the problem is persistent or intermittent, along with your headset, runtime, and GPU.
What to do about freezes and lockups
TinyBlkDog’s known-issues page documents lockups without identifying a reliable trigger or a confirmed fix. One issue report describes stalls every 20–40 seconds in that specific report; it is not an expected rate for all players. If the game becomes unresponsive, you may need to close it through Task Manager and lose progress since the last checkpoint.

The project notes suggest that a streaming-link problem could explain some stalls, but explicitly treat that as a hypothesis. If you use wireless PC VR, test one change at a time and compare the result with your usual setup:
- Try a wired connection.
- Lower the streaming bitrate.
- Try a different codec.
These are diagnostic experiments, not guaranteed repairs. Keep the same game scene and other settings where possible, and record whether each change affects the freeze. If none changes the symptom, do not treat the streaming link as the established cause.

Investigate tracking problems without guessing at the cause
TinyBlkDog’s project lists 6DoF head tracking and an adjustable neck model. Its documentation says recentering is handled by the headset. The available issue notes do not establish a general cause for tracking drift; in at least one described observation, head movement and tracking drift had not been measured separately.
Before changing the mod or assuming the headset is defective, note what “tracking problem” means in your case: for example, whether the view drifts while your head is still, fails to follow head movement, or appears offset only in a particular scene. Record the headset and OpenXR runtime, when the symptom begins, and whether it changes after using the headset’s recenter function. The project documentation does not establish a universal tracking fix or broad compatibility guarantee for every headset/runtime combination.

Send a useful bug report
For TinyBlkDog’s project, include the details its repository requests rather than reporting only that the mod crashes or feels slow:
- Mod version and build details.
- Headset, OpenXR runtime, and GPU.
- Mission and activity when the issue occurs.
- Steps to reproduce the problem, if known.
- For performance reports, the current Resolution setting.
- The first approximately 30 lines of
titanfall2vr.logfrom%LOCALAPPDATA%titanfall2vr.
That log location is specific to TinyBlkDog’s project. Do not assume it applies to CircuitLord’s installer or another mod; follow that project’s own reporting instructions.
Stay within the mod’s stated boundaries
TinyBlkDog’s README describes the project for single-player and warns: “Do not use this on official servers.” CircuitLord’s installer README says its mods and installer are community projects, not affiliated with or endorsed by the game’s developers or publishers.
