Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe right fix depends on the controller. For a DualSense Edge, try Sony’s reset troubleshooting step; if its stick module is faulty, Sony documents a user-replaceable module swap. For an Xbox Elite Series 2, Microsoft’s repair guidance covers internal disassembly and reassembly, so check service and warranty options before considering that advanced work.
Choose the repair path for your exact controller
| Controller or situation | Practical next step | What the manufacturer guidance establishes |
|---|---|---|
| DualSense Edge drift persists after basic troubleshooting | Try resetting the controller. If the stick module is faulty, consider replacing it. | PlayStation lists reset among its troubleshooting steps and provides a repair route if problems remain. Its support page says: “If a stick module doesn’t work properly or stops working, you can replace it with a new stick module (sold separately).” |
| DualSense Edge needs a replacement module | Use a replacement stick module made for the DualSense Edge and follow Sony’s swap procedure. | Sony says the left and right modules are interchangeable. Regional availability is not established here. |
| Xbox Elite Series 2 drift continues | Check service and warranty options before deciding whether internal repair is appropriate. | Microsoft publishes model-specific component disassembly and reassembly guidance, including safety precautions. That guidance does not establish that a particular repair will fix every drift problem. |
| The problem remains or the controller has other damage | Contact the manufacturer’s support or repair service. | Eligibility, cost, and outcome depend on the case and region. |
Fix stick drift on a DualSense Edge
1. Try resetting the controller
Sony includes resetting the DualSense Edge among its troubleshooting steps. Try that before buying a replacement module. If the problem remains, use PlayStation’s repair guidance to decide what to do next.
2. Replace the stick module if it is faulty
The Edge is designed to let the owner replace a stick module without opening the controller shell. Sony says replacement modules are sold separately and that the left and right modules are interchangeable. Buy a module specifically intended for the DualSense Edge; do not assume a stick component for another controller is compatible.
- Make sure the controller is turned off and disconnect its USB cable.
- Use the rear RELEASE latch to remove the front cover.
- Raise the release lever, then remove the existing stick module.
- Slide the replacement module into the grooves until it clicks into place.
- Lower the lever and reattach the front cover.
Follow Sony’s instructions and power and disconnection precautions throughout the swap. If the replacement module does not seat properly, or the drift continues afterward, stop and contact PlayStation support rather than forcing the part or repeatedly opening the controller.
#1 Best Overall
- Maintain your DualSense Edge wireless controller’s great performance with this replacement stick module.
Fix stick drift on an Xbox Elite Series 2
Check service options before opening it
The Xbox Elite Series 2 does not use the Edge’s owner-replaceable module procedure. Microsoft’s published repair material covers internal component disassembly and reassembly. Check available service options and warranty eligibility for your controller before opening it; the result can depend on your region and circumstances.
Understand the risks of internal repair
Microsoft’s guide identifies electrostatic-discharge (ESD) precautions and tools for applicable steps, including an anti-static wrist strap, an ESD-safe mat, a plastic pry tool, and Torx drivers. Microsoft warns that improper tools or incompatible or modified parts can cause injury or damage. Treat this route as advanced service and follow the model-specific Microsoft procedure rather than applying the DualSense Edge steps.

- A pair of Stick Modules for DualSense Edge Controller Only
- Include TWO Stick Module. A pair of replacement sticks
The guide establishes how to approach component disassembly and reassembly; it does not establish that a particular part replacement or cleaning method will resolve every drift complaint. If you are not equipped to follow the safety and service procedure, use a service option instead of attempting internal repair.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When to contact support
- Contact PlayStation support if resetting or the supported Edge module replacement does not resolve the issue.
- Contact Xbox support or a repair service if Elite Series 2 drift persists and you do not intend to perform advanced internal service.
- Seek service advice if either controller has additional damage or a replacement part does not fit as expected.
Do not assume a repair will be covered or quote a repair price without checking the manufacturer’s current terms for your region and case.

- Note: The analog joystick replacement work requires professional tool kit/repair devices(not included in our package) and good skills in desoldering and soldering. If you are not experienced with soldering, we recommend seeking professional assistance to ensure proper installation. After installation, use the Test Tool on our site to run stick calibration first before use. We also have an installation video on our listing for your reference.
- Upgraded Anti-Drift TMR Joystick Technology – Evolved from GuliKit's patented Hall Effect joystick, the more advanced TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) thumb stick same works with contact-less magnetic field sensing mechanism to eliminate stick drift cause, while offers ultra-low power consumption, enhanced stability, drift-free long lasting durability, high-precision and silk-like smoothness.
- No Circuit Changes Required (Soldering Required) – Replace the original stick module with the enhanced TMR version to fix stick drift on DualSense / DualSense Edge controllers.
- Anti-Interference Structure –Unique structural design prevents interference from magnetic triggers on the joysticks.
- Premium Stick Caps – Includes 2 GuliKit KK Ring anti-friction stick knobs designed for enhanced gripping and comfort during extended play.
