Secret Mode has documented several specific PC problems, including crashes in some NVIDIA 50-series configurations using DLSS and Frame Generation, but it has not published a universal fix. Match your symptom to the cases below, then contact support if it is not covered.
Check the developer’s known issues first
Secret Mode’s Known Issues post describes several reported problems. The list may change as the developer updates it, so check the current post before trying broader troubleshooting.
Crash on some NVIDIA 50-series configurations
The developer reports crashes in some cases involving NVIDIA 50-series graphics cards when both Frame Generation and DLSS are being used. It does not say that every crash on these GPUs has this cause, or provide a confirmed workaround.
As a diagnostic test—not an officially confirmed fix—turn off Frame Generation and DLSS temporarily, restart the game, and see whether the same crash happens. If it continues, restore your preferred settings and report the issue rather than treating a GPU replacement as necessary.

Intel Arc A580 image distortion or flicker
Secret Mode lists distorted or flickering images on the Intel Arc A580 when Resizable BAR is disabled. Check whether Resizable BAR is enabled using the official guidance for your GPU, motherboard, and system. The issue post does not give BIOS instructions, so do not change firmware settings based on assumed menu names.
Monitor blinking and system unresponsiveness in fullscreen
The developer also lists a problem where switching focus between applications while the game is in fullscreen can make the monitor blink and the system highly unresponsive. The post does not specify a workaround. If this matches your symptom, include the focus switch and fullscreen state in a support report.

Steam Deck appears stuck during launch
On Steam Deck, the developer says the EOS overlay may fail to appear, making the game look as if it has hung. Its instruction is to press B to cancel and return to the game. This addresses the overlay situation only; it is not presented as a fix for other crashes or launch failures.
Verify that your PC meets the published requirements
Steam’s official store listing specifies these Windows PC requirements. Compare your system with the minimum and recommended specifications; falling below minimum means your PC does not match the published baseline, but does not by itself prove the cause of a particular crash or stutter.

The listing gives no separate recommended operating system. The SSD requirement is a published system requirement, not evidence that moving the game to an SSD will resolve every stability problem. Check that the drive containing the game has the required free space.
For a launch failure, check first-launch authentication
On PC, the developer says you need an internet connection the first time you launch the game so it can authenticate. If the game will not start on its first run, connect to the internet and try launching again.

After initial authentication, the developer says the solo campaign, Arcade events, and Scenarios can be played offline. Internet access is still needed for updates and online-connected features. The PC version is available through Steam and Epic Games Store, according to the developer’s FAQ; the authentication requirement applies to PC and should not be assumed to describe console launch behavior.

Check the current Known Issues post for a match. If your symptom is not listed, Secret Mode directs players to its Customer Support Centre to submit a bug report. Useful context to include—not a stated list of required fields—is:
- Platform and storefront, plus your operating system
- CPU, GPU, and graphics-driver version
- What happened, including the exact error text if one appeared
- The steps immediately before the crash, stutter, or failed launch
Steam Deck performance context
Secret Mode says a consistent 30 fps is achievable on Steam Deck with optimal settings, but the FAQ does not specify those settings. Treat that as the developer’s stated target, not an independent benchmark or a guarantee for every configuration.
