If your Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 will not connect, first make sure it is actually in pairing mode: with the headphones off, hold Volume + until you hear “pairing” and the LED flashes red and blue alternately. Then choose OpenRun Pro 2 by Shokz in your phone or computer’s Bluetooth settings. If that does not work, check Bluetooth and distance, set up multipoint using its separate sequence, and only then try a factory reset.
Pair OpenRun Pro 2 with a phone or computer
Basic Bluetooth pairing does not require the Shokz App. Use the device’s Bluetooth settings instead. Shokz’s OpenRun Pro 2 support page says the headset can function without the app; the app provides additional settings such as EQ and language controls.
- Turn the headphones off.
- Press and hold Volume + until you hear the “pairing” prompt and see the LED flash red and blue alternately. Keep holding past any power-on prompt; pairing mode is indicated by the pairing prompt and alternating light.
- On your phone or computer, open Bluetooth settings, enable Bluetooth if needed, and select OpenRun Pro 2 by Shokz from the available devices.
- When connected, the headphones give a prompt and the LED turns blue.
These steps follow Shokz’s official pairing instructions.
If OpenRun Pro 2 will not connect
Check pairing mode first
If the device does not appear in the Bluetooth list, check that the headphones were off before you held Volume + and that you waited for the “pairing” prompt and alternating red-and-blue LED. Merely hearing the power-on prompt is not confirmation that the headset is ready to pair.

Check the phone or computer and distance
Confirm the receiving device is on and Bluetooth is enabled. A Shokz Help Center troubleshooting search result also advises keeping devices within 10 m. The underlying help page was not available to verify further detail, so treat that distance as basic Shokz guidance rather than a guarantee of connection at that range.
Set up the second device as multipoint
Adding a second phone or computer uses a separate sequence from ordinary pairing. Shokz’s OpenRun Pro 2 guide describes these steps:

- Put the headphones in pairing mode by holding Volume + while they are off.
- In pairing mode, hold Multifunction and Volume + together until you hear a beep.
- Select the headset in the first device’s Bluetooth settings.
- Turn the headphones off, then enter pairing mode again.
- Select the headset in the second device’s Bluetooth settings.
- Turn the headphones off and back on to complete setup.
The Shokz App also offers multipoint management, but it is not required for standard Bluetooth pairing.
Factory-reset the headphones if simpler checks fail
A factory reset restores the headphones to factory settings. You will need to pair your Bluetooth devices again afterward, so use this only after checking pairing mode, Bluetooth availability, and any multipoint setup.

- Turn the headphones off.
- Hold Volume + until you hear the “pairing” prompt and see the alternating red-and-blue LED.
- While in pairing mode, press and hold Multifunction, Volume +, and Volume – together until you hear a beep.
- Pair the phone or computer again using the standard pairing steps.

The available OpenRun Pro 2 guidance does not establish model-specific instructions for clearing a phone’s Bluetooth cache, updating computer drivers, or resolving every operating-system issue, so do not treat those generic fixes as Shokz-prescribed steps for this headset.
