If your Samsung Galaxy lost service or started dropping calls after you changed an AT command or service-menu setting, start with Samsung’s ordinary network troubleshooting steps—but do not assume they will undo that specific change. Samsung’s support guidance covers general signal and calling problems, not a command-specific repair. No safe reversal command is established without knowing the exact model, carrier, software version, and command.
First identify what is failing
Check whether the phone has no signal or service, cannot place outgoing calls, or only fails to receive certain calls. Those symptoms point to different checks. Samsung lists device settings, network conditions, and mobile-network configuration among possible causes of call drops or missing signal; the symptom alone does not establish that an AT command damaged the phone.
- No service, no signal, or failed outgoing calls: continue with the network checks below.
- Only incoming calls from unknown or private numbers are missing: check whether incoming-call blocking is enabled. This is different from a general network-registration problem.
Menu names and layouts vary by model and software version, as Samsung notes in its Galaxy call-disconnection and no-signal guide. Treat the paths below as likely locations and follow the labels shown on your phone.
Try the low-risk checks first
Install an available software update
Open Settings > Software update (the wording may differ), check for an update, and install it if one is offered. Follow any on-screen restart instructions.

Make sure Airplane mode is off
Open Settings > Connections and verify that Airplane mode is off. If it was on, turn it off and allow the phone a moment to reconnect.
Reset mobile-network settings carefully
Samsung recommends a mobile-network reset for persistent call drops or signal loss. On supported Galaxy software, the likely path is Settings > General management > Reset > Reset mobile network settings > Reset settings > Reset. Read the confirmation screen before accepting; available reset options and their effects can vary.

Samsung’s New Zealand support page, last updated 2021-12-16, describes a broader network reset and warns that it also resets Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other network settings. You may need to reconnect to Wi-Fi or reconfigure saved network connections afterward. Review the exact prompt on your device rather than assuming the reset affects only mobile service. This is a supported general troubleshooting step, not a documented way to restore every modem parameter that an unknown AT command may have changed.

Restore APN defaults if mobile connectivity is affected
If mobile data or the mobile-network connection remains affected, Samsung documents resetting the access point name (APN) values to default. The likely path is Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Access Point Names > More options > Reset to default. Do not enter guessed APN values. If the defaults do not restore connectivity, ask your carrier for the correct settings for your plan and device.
Check the available network mode
Open Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network mode, then select an option available for your handset and appropriate for your carrier and location. Options differ across devices and networks, and Samsung cautions that a selected mode may not connect properly in some environments. Do not force a legacy mode or change hidden band settings based on a guess.

Run diagnostics and contact support if needed
Run Samsung Members diagnostics
If the app and device support it, open Samsung Members > Support > Get Started > Mobile network and run the diagnostic. Samsung’s instructions require the Samsung Members app; the diagnostic may not be available on every device or software version.
Give Samsung or your carrier the details they need
If service remains unavailable after these checks, contact Samsung or your carrier. Provide the Galaxy model, software version, carrier, exact symptom, and—if you know it—the precise AT command or service-menu setting you changed. That information is necessary to assess whether a command-specific recovery applies; the Samsung troubleshooting pages cited here do not document AT-command, modem NV-setting, or service-menu restoration procedures.

Do not try random AT commands, hidden service-menu changes, firmware flashing, or a factory reset as a first-line response. The available Samsung instructions do not establish that those actions safely reverse an unknown modem change.
