Before you start: identify the error and protect your settings
“Stuck installing” is a general symptom, not a specific Logitech error. Note the exact message and whether you use Windows or macOS before choosing a procedure. Download G HUB only from Logitech’s official G HUB page.
On Windows, begin with the installer’s repair option and move to manual removal only if that fails. On a Mac affected by Logitech’s January 2026 signing-certificate issue, run the updated installer without uninstalling first. A clean uninstall and reinstall can remove settings and customizations.
Windows: try the installer’s Reinstall option first
- Download and run the official G HUB installer from Logitech.
- If the installer detects an existing or broken installation and offers Reinstall, select it and let the process finish.
- Open G HUB and check whether it launches and detects your devices.
Logitech recommends this automatic reinstall path before manually deleting application files. If it does not resolve the problem, use the cleanup steps below.

If Reinstall does not work: remove G HUB files and install again
Manual cleanup removes application data, so use it only after the installer’s repair attempt fails. Follow Logitech’s Windows installation-failure guide:
- Open Task Manager and end these processes if they are running:
LGHUB.exe,lghub_agent.exe, andlghub_updater.exe. - Show hidden files in File Explorer. Delete the
LGHUBfolder in your user’s Roaming AppData folder and theLGHUBfolder underC:ProgramData. Deleteold.LGHUBif it is present. - Restart Windows.
- Download the latest G HUB installer from Logitech and run it.
If Windows reports Access Denied, Logitech suggests running the installer or file operation as Administrator. If a folder will not delete, restart and try again. Logitech also suggests temporarily disabling antivirus if installation still fails; this is a troubleshooting suggestion, not proof that antivirus caused the problem. Re-enable protection after the attempt.

Windows: fix “Unable to load basic components of the installer”
This exact message has a specific fix involving the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. Do not assume this runtime repair applies to every G HUB installation problem. Follow Logitech’s instructions for the error:
- Delete the G HUB installation package you downloaded. Uninstall a previous G HUB installation if one is present.
- Check that
C:Program FilesLGHUBhas been removed. - Download the latest supported Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from Microsoft’s supported downloads page and run its installer.
- After it finishes, open the Visual C++ installer again and choose Repair.
- Restart Windows if prompted.
- Download a fresh G HUB installer from Logitech and try installing again.
Mac: fix the January 2026 certificate-related failure
Logitech reported that an expired signing certificate affected G HUB, Options+, and their in-app updaters on macOS beginning January 7, 2026. For this particular issue, Logitech’s certificate advisory says to run the updated G HUB installer over the existing installation rather than uninstalling first.

- Download the updated G HUB installer from Logitech.
- Run it using Mac administrator credentials.
- If the installer says the software already exists, close the installer.
- Launch G HUB.
If your Mac is running macOS 12 Monterey, Logitech provides a separate Logi Certificate Patch tool for this certificate issue. Logitech says the patch itself will not affect settings or customizations. If G HUB remains stuck on a spinning logo after the patch, restart the Mac and run a freshly downloaded installer, as Logitech advises.
These steps address the documented certificate incident, not every possible Mac installation error. If your error is different, do not assume the certificate patch is the right remedy.

Check compatibility and contact Logitech if the problem continues
Logitech describes G HUB as supporting recent Windows and macOS versions, but its compatibility overview does not state exact minimum operating-system versions. Check the current release details for your system on Logitech’s G HUB overview rather than relying on an assumed version threshold.
If the matching procedure does not resolve the problem, contact Logitech Support and include the exact error message, your Windows or macOS version, and the steps you have already tried. This helps Support distinguish a general installation failure from a specific installer or certificate issue.
