If Gran Turismo 7 cannot connect, first check PlayStation Network and Gran Turismo service notices. If a service is down or under maintenance, wait and retry when it returns; changing your Wi-Fi settings will not fix an outage. If services appear available, test the console’s connection and then work through your network setup.
1. Check the exact error and service status
Write down the complete message and any error code shown on screen. Messages such as “Unable to connect to the server” or “This service is currently under maintenance” are PlayStation error descriptions, not diagnoses unique to Gran Turismo 7. PlayStation’s error-code index covers distinct network, communication, and maintenance errors; use the entry for your exact code rather than applying one generic fix to every problem.
Check PlayStation Network status and Gran Turismo service and maintenance notices. If a relevant outage or maintenance period is listed, wait until service is restored and try again. Status changes, so check the current notices rather than relying on an old report.
2. Test the console and retry
Use the network connection test in your console’s Network settings to check whether it can reach the internet and PlayStation Network. The exact menu wording can vary by system software, but look under Settings for Network and the connection-test option.

- Close Gran Turismo 7, then restart the game and try connecting again.
- Restart the PS5 or PS4 and run the network connection test again.
- If the test fails, or the error includes a PlayStation code, open the matching entry in the PlayStation error-code index. For example, PlayStation’s instructions for PS5 error NW-102650-4 apply to that code; do not assume another GT7 error has the same cause.
If other online services work but GT7 does not, that narrows the possibilities but does not by itself prove that Gran Turismo’s servers are at fault. Check the game’s notices and keep the exact error available for support.
3. Compare Ethernet and Wi-Fi
Gran Turismo supports both Wi-Fi and wired connections, and recommends wired networking for a more stable environment. If the console is on Wi-Fi and you can run a cable to the router, connect it by Ethernet and test GT7 again. A cable is an optional way to try the recommended connection; it cannot resolve a server outage, a PSN account issue, or every network error.

After changing the connection or console placement, run the connection test and retry the game. Changing one thing at a time makes it easier to tell whether the change helped.
4. Restart and update the router
PlayStation’s steps for PS5 error NW-102650-4 include restarting the modem and router: switch them off, wait at least five minutes, then turn them back on. After the network is available, test the console and retry GT7. Check the router manufacturer’s instructions for any available firmware update.

Do not jump straight to a factory reset, port forwarding, or DMZ settings. PlayStation lists advanced network changes, including opening ports, setting a static IP, or temporarily changing DNS, as later possibilities for the cited error—not as a GT7-specific port prescription. If basic checks have not helped, ask your internet provider or router manufacturer for guidance before changing advanced settings.
5. Check NAT for lobby-specific problems
If the main issue is joining or hosting a multiplayer Lobby, NAT and connection quality may be relevant. Gran Turismo says the lobby’s environment quality depends on players’ NAT type and internet connection quality; that information appears in Room Settings when creating a Lobby room. This does not mean every player must force a particular NAT type. Avoid putting the console in a DMZ or making other security-sensitive changes without specific guidance from your ISP or router vendor.

6. Escalate with useful details
If the problem continues after service checks and basic network troubleshooting, contact PlayStation support for a console or PSN error, your ISP or router vendor for a network issue, or Gran Turismo support for a game-service issue. Include:
