On PC, repair or verify the game files next; then check graphics drivers and lower demanding settings if performance is still poor. The right fix depends on the game, platform, and where the failure occurs—PC file repair will not solve a console or service outage.
First, identify where and how the problem occurs
Before changing anything, note the exact game, platform and storefront, any error message, and the point of failure: launcher, splash screen, loading, or gameplay. Also note whether the trouble began after a game, operating-system, graphics-driver, or launcher update. These details help you choose the game’s platform-specific support instructions rather than applying an unrelated fix.
- Launch or loading failure: Check service status, then consider local files or a PC-specific DirectX or launcher issue.
- Crash or freeze during play: On PC, check installation files and graphics drivers; on console, use the support route for that title and platform.
- Low frame rate or stuttering: Check graphics drivers, then reduce graphics settings and retest.
- Sign-in, download, or update trouble: Check EA and platform service status before treating it as a local installation problem.
If several games are affected, consider whether the issue is broader than one installation. If only one title is affected, use its own support hub: Jedi: Survivor, Jedi: Fallen Order, Battlefront, or Battlefront II.
Try reversible checks first
- Exit the game and start it again. If that does not help, restart the PC or console and retry.
- Check EA and your platform’s service status if the problem involves launching, signing in, downloading, or updating. An account or service disruption can look like a local game fault.
- On PC, close unnecessary background applications if the game is slow or laggy, or if you are having EA app connection issues.
Repair or verify the game files on PC
Missing or corrupted installation files can cause a game to crash, freeze, fail to start, or show an unexpected error. Use the repair or verification feature in the client where the game is installed.

EA app
- Open the EA app and select Library.
- Select the game’s three-dot menu on its tile, then choose Repair.
- When the repair finishes, restart the PC and try launching the game again.
Steam or Epic Games
Use that store’s verify-files instructions for the installed game. The exact interface can differ by client and may change over time; avoid following EA app menu steps for a game installed through another storefront.
Check graphics drivers and settings for performance issues
Electronic Arts says outdated graphics drivers can cause low frame rates, crashes, and other game performance issues. Identify your graphics hardware—EA points to DxDiag for this—then check the GPU manufacturer’s current driver guidance. Install an applicable update and test the game again. A driver update is a diagnostic step, not a guarantee that it will resolve every crash or performance problem.

If the driver is current and low frame rates or stuttering continue, lower graphics settings and retest. EA’s examples for STAR WARS Zero Company are the Display, Anti-aliasing & Upscaling, and Quality categories. Those labels and options are specific to that game’s guidance; other Star Wars titles may use different menus and settings.

- PC launch error involving DirectX or the EA app: Follow the relevant EA troubleshooting path for that game and error.
- Unclear PC problem: Prepare a DxDiag report to identify graphics hardware and system details.
- Console crash or freeze: Open the specific game’s EA support hub and select the matching platform and issue.
- Persistent problem after these checks: Contact EA or the platform’s support team with the game title, platform, error message, failure stage, and steps already tried.
EA’s STAR WARS Zero Company troubleshooting guide gives detailed examples for launch, crash, freeze, installation, and performance issues. Treat its exact menu labels and title-specific advice as applying to Zero Company; for another game, use that title’s current support page.
