If Bluetooth is the issue, the included 3.5 mm cable can also help distinguish it from a broader audio problem.
1. Check whether the Beats Studio Pro is charging
Connect the headphones to a wall outlet with a USB-C cable and compatible power adapter. Apple says the five fuel-gauge lights on the right earcup flash while the headphones charge and remain lit when charging is complete. See Apple’s Beats charging instructions.
If the lights do not respond, try another known-good USB-C cable and compatible power source. This is a basic way to check the charging setup; Apple does not specify a required third-party cable or adapter.
2. Check Bluetooth distance and interference
Make sure the headphones and the paired device are turned on and charged, and keep them within 30 feet of each other. Move them away from other Bluetooth devices and electronics, including microwaves and wireless routers. Apple recommends these checks for wireless Beats connection problems; the 30-foot figure is troubleshooting guidance, not a guarantee of range. See Apple’s connection troubleshooting steps.

3. Confirm that audio is routed to the Beats
A device can show the headphones as connected while sending sound to a different output. Check the selected audio device and raise the volume on both the Beats and the source device.
- iPhone or iPad: Open Bluetooth settings and check the Beats connection.
- Mac: Open System Settings > Sound, then select the Beats for Output. Check Input there too if the microphone is the problem.
- PC: Open sound settings and select the Beats as the playback device; select them as the recording device if needed.

4. Test a downloaded track instead of streaming
Play audio stored on the device rather than a streaming track, and check that the app is playing and not paused or muted. If downloaded audio works but streaming does not, the difference points toward the streaming app or network rather than proving a headphone fault.
5. Forget the headphones and pair them again
If the Beats still will not connect or audio remains unavailable, remove or forget them in the source device’s Bluetooth settings, then pair them again. Apple provides platform-specific instructions for iPhone, iPad, and Mac in its connection guide; on other devices, use their Bluetooth settings.

6. Reset Beats Studio Pro if pairing or sound still fails
If the preceding checks do not help, first make sure the device paired with the headphones is up to date. Apple’s general Beats reset guidance recommends this when troubleshooting sound, pairing, or charging problems. The Studio Pro has a model-specific reset:
- Press and hold the system button on the right earcup for 10 seconds.
- Release the button when the reset light sequence begins. The five lights flash white, then one flashes red; this sequence occurs three times.
- Wait for the headphones to turn on automatically, then pair them with your device again.
Follow Apple’s reset instructions for Beats. If the reset cannot be completed or the problem persists afterward, contact Apple Support.

7. Use the 3.5 mm cable to check wired playback
Connect the included 3.5 mm audio cable from the headphone jack on the Studio Pro to the source device. Apple says wired listening works without battery power. If wired audio plays but Bluetooth audio does not, that observation can help narrow the issue toward Bluetooth pairing or the device’s audio routing; it does not identify the exact fault.
The Studio Pro can also play audio from a supported connected device over USB-C while charging. Disconnecting the USB-C cable turns the headphones off. See Apple’s Studio Pro usage guide.
