If your Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro is losing charge unusually quickly, start with Settings > Battery and check which apps or system activity are using the most power. Then test reversible changes—such as Battery Saver or restricting a clearly high-use app—before considering a service diagnosis. Xiaomi’s published material does not establish a specific Redmi Note 15 Pro battery-drain defect or a guaranteed fix, and menus can differ by region and HyperOS build.
1. Check what is using the battery
- Open Settings > Battery, or the equivalent battery page on your installed HyperOS build.
- Review the battery-use list and note the apps and system entries accounting for the most power. If available, compare the same time period across days rather than relying on a single reading.
- Look for a third-party app that appears unusually high relative to your use. Do not force-stop unfamiliar system processes; their activity may be necessary for the phone to work normally.
Battery-use figures can reflect your apps, screen use, network conditions, and other activity; they do not by themselves prove a defect. Record the largest entries and when the rapid loss occurs so you can compare after a change.
2. Try reversible changes one at a time
Update apps and check for a normal system update
Update apps through their usual update channel, and install a stable system update only if the phone’s normal updater offers one. The available Xiaomi material does not identify a particular update as a Redmi Note 15 Pro battery fix. Make one change at a time and observe whether the usage pattern changes.
Test Battery Saver
Xiaomi’s HyperOS guide says Battery Saver can reduce apps’ background activity, stop sync, and minimize system animations. Enable it temporarily from the battery settings and compare battery use with a similar period of ordinary use. Restrict a clearly high-use app if appropriate
If one third-party app stands out in the battery list, first update it. If the phone provides background-activity controls for that app, try restricting it and then check whether the drain changes. Restrictions can delay notifications or syncing, so restore the previous setting if those functions are affected.
3. Allow for changes after setup or an update
If the increase began just after setting up the phone or installing an update, note the date and continue ordinary use while monitoring battery use. The sources available do not establish a fixed settling period for this model, so do not assume either that the drain is normal or that it will resolve after a particular number of hours or days.

4. Identify your regional model and software version
Redmi Note 15 Pro specifications and software listings differ across Xiaomi’s regional pages. Xiaomi’s UK FAQ describes a dual-cell lithium-polymer battery rated at 6350 mAh and typical capacity of 6500 mAh, while Xiaomi India’s Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G page lists 6580 mAh. These are regional product-page specifications, not comparable independent endurance tests or a single universal capacity figure. Check the local product or support page for your exact model. Software listings also vary: Xiaomi’s UK FAQ says the first batch runs Xiaomi HyperOS 2.2 based on Android 15, while the India product page lists HyperOS 3 on Android 15. Check your phone’s installed HyperOS version in Settings and use support information for your region rather than assuming the same menus or software state everywhere.

5. Know when settings are not enough
Contact Xiaomi support or an authorized repair service if the battery continues to fall rapidly, the percentage drops abruptly, the phone becomes unusually hot, the battery appears swollen, or charging is unreliable. Do not open the phone or install an unverified replacement battery. Save the information that will help with diagnosis:
- When the problem began and whether it followed setup, an update, or a change in use.
- Your model and region, installed HyperOS version, and the battery-use entries you observed.
- Whether you noticed unusual warmth, abrupt percentage changes, swelling, or charging problems.
