For black screens or flickering, troubleshoot the HDMI video path separately: the A50 X does not require an HDMI 2.1 TV, though Logitech recommends trying certified HDMI 2.1 cables for those video symptoms.
Fix choppy or unclear A50 X microphone audio
Logitech’s first device-specific check is the Noise Gate. A setting that is too aggressive for your environment can affect microphone audio.
- Open G HUB on your computer or the Logitech G mobile app.
- Find the A50 X Noise Gate setting and temporarily turn Noise Gate off.
- Check whether the microphone is clearer. If not, restore your preferred setting and continue with the connection check below.
If the base station is connected through a USB hub or docking station, connect it directly to a USB port on the PC or game system and check the microphone again. Logitech recommends this as a troubleshooting step; it is not a guaranteed repair.
If you uninstalled the app after changing Noise Gate and now cannot change the setting, Logitech says to reinstall the app. Its stated alternative is a factory reset. Use Logitech’s A50 X-specific support material for reset guidance rather than applying button combinations from older Astro A50 models.

Troubleshoot A50 X black screens, flickering, or video artifacts
These are video-passthrough symptoms, so treat them separately from microphone, wireless, or audio-routing problems. Logitech says the A50 X supports legacy HDMI versions and does not require an HDMI 2.1 television. For black screens, flickering, or artifacts, Logitech suggests trying HDMI 2.1 certified cables and points to the HDMI Forum Ultra High-Speed Cable Certification Program. A cable change is relevant to these video symptoms, not a general fix for headset audio or microphone faults.
With a latest-generation console, a TV that is not HDMI 2.1 may limit the features Logitech identifies as 120Hz HDR, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). That limitation concerns the video features available through the display setup; it does not mean an HDMI 2.1 TV is required for basic A50 X compatibility.

A50 X has no sound or will not connect to the base station
Logitech’s public A50 X Getting Started page is the appropriate place to find device-specific setup material and current support options: A50 X Getting Started. A complete platform-by-platform audio-routing checklist, pairing sequence, and reset button combination are not established in the available A50 X support information cited here, so do not rely on instructions for older generations.
In particular, avoid transferring Astro A50 Gen 2, Gen 3, or Gen 4 procedures involving mode switches, optical cables, or button resets to the A50 X. The hardware and setup procedures differ.

Choose the right software for the A50 X
Logitech’s software compatibility list names G HUB and the Logitech G mobile app for A50 X LIGHTSPEED. Astro Command Center is listed for older A50 Gen 3 and Gen 4 models, not as the A50 X troubleshooting app. Check the compatibility list before installing software or following firmware instructions: Logitech G software compatibility.
