Start with the symptom. If ARC Raiders crashes at launch, in the menu or on a loading screen, Embark Studios has official fixes, and several are tied to a specific error code. If the game runs but stutters or has low FPS, Embark publishes no dedicated recipe. In that case, check your PC against Steam’s requirements, update drivers, and change one thing at a time.
This guide follows Embark’s Help Center article “Troubleshooting Game Crash & Launch Issues – PC” (last updated 30 September 2026) and the requirements on Steam’s ARC Raiders page. These are official instructions, not fixes we tested. Neither source gives a success rate or an FPS gain, so none is claimed here.
Check the published PC requirements first
Steam lists these tiers. Meeting the minimum is a baseline. It does not guarantee a stable game or a particular frame rate.

These tiers do not show which part limits your PC, and they do not show that an upgrade would cure a symptom. A PC below the minimum is a different problem from a PC that meets it and still stutters. Sort yourself into one of those two groups before you change anything.

Crashes in the menu or while loading
Work through these in order. They are Embark’s general checks for startup and loading crashes.
1. Turn off Raider Voice (Beta)
If the crash happens in the main menu or on a loading screen and Raider Voice (Beta) is enabled, try the game with it off. Embark says this beta feature may cause crashes for some players.

2. Update drivers
Graphics drivers matter most. Embark also lists CPU, motherboard/BIOS, monitor, network adapter/modem and peripheral drivers as things to check.
- Press Win+R, type
dxdiagand press Enter. - Open the Display tab and note your GPU name.
- Get the driver from your GPU vendor’s official driver utility or support site.
3. Update Windows and DirectX
Install pending Windows updates and restart afterwards. Embark also points players to Microsoft for the latest DirectX.

4. Verify the game files on Steam
Open Library, right-click ARC Raiders, choose Properties, then Installed Files, then Verify integrity of game files. This applies only to the Steam version.
5. Disable overlays and third-party software
If crashes continue after the steps above, Embark suggests turning off overlays and other third-party software.

Fix Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) errors
Error 30005
Embark says this can happen when EAC cannot start the game, often because another program, such as antivirus software, has locked an EAC file. Reboot first. If the error remains, Embark suggests an antivirus exclusion for Program Files (x86)EasyAntiCheat_EOS. Limit the exception to that folder and follow the official EAC support instructions.
EAC Windows Service problems
For an EAC-related launch error, Embark says the EAC self-repair tool may help. It is an advanced Command Prompt step, and the Help Center article links to the EAC instructions.

“Maximum simultaneous game instances reached”
Open Task Manager and look for an ARC Raiders process. If one is still running, end it. If none is visible, Embark says a full reboot is needed to clear the EAC driver state.

The ARAV8007 fix is the most disruptive. Confirm you have the correct install folder before deleting anything, and follow Embark’s instructions exactly. Keep file deletions tied to the exact code you see.
Stuttering and low FPS
Embark’s guide does not give a recommended graphics preset, a measured frame-rate improvement or a guaranteed stutter fix. No setting or hardware purchase can be promised to deliver a stated gain. What you can do is narrow the cause on your own PC.
- Separate FPS from network problems. Rubber-banding and delayed actions point to the connection or servers. Low FPS and uneven frame pacing are rendering problems. They need different fixes.
- Compare against the table above. If your CPU, RAM or GPU is below the minimum tier, expect trouble. If you are at or above it, the cause is more likely software, drivers or a specific setting.
- Update the GPU driver from the vendor and install pending Windows updates, as in the crash steps.
- Close overlays and background software before you play, since Embark already names them as a crash factor.
- Change one thing at a time. Make one change, play the same stretch of the game, and note whether the symptom changes. If you change several settings at once, you will not know which one mattered.
Treat a hardware upgrade as a last step, and only after you have a diagnosed bottleneck. Neither source shows that one is needed for these symptoms in general.
If it still crashes: contact support
Use Embark’s official support site. Give the exact error text or code, when it happens (launch, menu, loading or mid-session), your storefront, and the steps you already tried. The Help Center’s Technical section also has separate entries for system requirements, connection, loading, crashes and CPU instability. Embark updates this guidance, so check the current article if your error is not listed here.
