1. Check docking and allow time between emptying cycles

If the robot has just emptied, wait at least 60 seconds before testing another empty cycle; returning to the base sooner may prevent it from emptying again. - Confirm the base has power and is on a stable surface.
- Make sure the robot is fully seated and aligned on the charging contacts.

2. Empty and refit both dustbins
Remove and empty the robot’s onboard dustbin and the base dustbin. Check the robot bin for visible debris, then reinstall it securely before testing. Shark’s UK support attachment for AV2501S-family robots associates error codes 26 and 30 with a dust-bin blockage and advises checking both bins for clogs. Because the attachment did not open cleanly, confirm the exact code and instructions in your robot’s app or manual rather than treating those codes as definitive for every AV2501S.
3. Clear accessible debris from the transfer path
With the robot and base accessible, remove loose hair and debris caught in the robot dustbin or wrapped around its lint filter. Check the debris-transfer opening at the rear of the robot and the corresponding path at the bottom of the base for visible obstructions. Clear only material you can reach without dismantling the base. Shark’s obstruction checklist specifically calls out debris in the robot bin, hair around the lint filter, and blockages at the robot or base debris path.
4. Maintain the base filters
Clean or maintain all base filters according to the maintenance schedule and instructions in the AV2501S manual. The support guidance calls for regular filter maintenance but does not establish that every filter is washable; do not rinse a filter unless the AV2501S instructions explicitly say it can be washed. Reinstall filters correctly before operating the base.
5. Test emptying and decide what to do next
- Refit the robot dustbin and any filters you removed, and close the base dustbin.
- Seat the robot on the charging contacts and let it complete the emptying process.
- If it still leaves debris behind, check the app and AV2501S manual for the exact error message or code.
- If the error persists, or the base appears to have an electrical or motor fault, contact Shark support and check your warranty documents before purchasing parts.
Do not take apart the base, bypass interlocks, or probe electrical components. The manufacturer troubleshooting guidance supports clearing accessible obstructions and maintaining filters, not internal electrical repair.

When a replacement part may make sense
Replace a component only after basic docking, bin, obstruction, and filter checks—or after Shark has diagnosed a fault.
