If your Ninja DualBrew stops brewing, check the display before resetting it: Add Wtr points to low water or a reservoir that is not seated properly; CLOG calls for checking the needles and cleaning or descaling; STOP means the brew was cancelled; and Er followed by a number requires Ninja support. If the display and power disappear entirely, the available official troubleshooting guidance does not identify a user repair for that failure.
Start with the display and the exact model
Note what the screen shows when brewing stops. Ninja’s DualBrew owner guide distinguishes these messages, and the appropriate response depends on the message rather than on a blanket reset. Check the model number on your brewer and use its matching owner guide: instructions and behaviors can differ between DualBrew generations.
- Add Wtr: the brewer needs water, or the reservoir may not be seated correctly.
- CLOG: grounds or scale may be obstructing the brew path.
- STOP: the brew has been cancelled.
- Er plus a number: contact Ninja Customer Service.
If no brew starts, confirm that the brewer is powered, check the display, and inspect the water level and reservoir seating. The owner guide documents the Add Wtr response, but does not establish every possible cause of a no-start condition.
Fix an Add Wtr warning or a brew that pauses for water
- Add fresh water to the reservoir.
- Press the same brew-style button you were using to resume brewing.
- If the reservoir already contains water, remove it and press it firmly back into place.
- If Add Wtr remains after reseating, contact Ninja support.
Fix a CLOG warning
Check for grounds at the needles
- For pod brewing, verify that the pod has been punctured.
- Inspect the upper and lower needles for visible grounds.
- If grounds are visible, clear them carefully with a flat wire or plastic clip. Avoid sharp-tool instructions; Ninja also lists a De-Clog Tool for the CFP101, but check compatibility with your model.
- Turn the brewer off and back on, then run a full-carafe Classic brew with water only.
If CLOG remains, or no grounds are visible, use the clean/descale procedure below. Ninja’s CFP101 page also lists model-specific parts and accessories; verify compatibility and current availability before ordering a replacement component.

Run the documented clean/descale cycle
- Place an empty carafe beneath the brew basket.
- Pour 16 oz of white vinegar into the reservoir, then add water to the Full line without going above it. Alternatively, use a descaling solution formulated for coffee makers and follow its package directions.
- Press CLEAN, then press CLEAN again to confirm and start the cycle.
- Leave the carafe in place while the cycle runs. The owner guide says the clean cycle takes approximately 75 minutes.
- When the cycle finishes, empty the carafe. Wash the reservoir with warm, soapy water, refill it with fresh water, and run a full-carafe Classic brew with water only.
- Discard the rinse water, then clean the carafe and brew basket.
A water-only clean cycle does not properly descale the brewer. Descaling is intended for scale-related performance problems; it is not a documented repair for an electrical fault.
Check the drip stop if STOP appears or brewing is cancelled
Ninja’s CFP300 guide says a closed drip stop pauses brewing, gives an audible reminder after 30 seconds, and cancels the brew after five minutes. Check that the drip-stop lever is open. Those timings are specific to the CFP300 guide, so do not assume they apply to every DualBrew model; check the manual for your exact unit.

When to contact Ninja support
For a numbered Er message, Ninja’s DualBrew guide directs owners to Customer Service at Ninja Support, by phone at 1-877-646-5288. The guide gives the same escalation for an Add Wtr warning that persists after you reseat the reservoir.
If the brewer loses all power or its display goes blank mid-cycle without a documented message, the official troubleshooting information does not establish a user repair. Record the exact model number and what appeared on the screen before it went blank, then contact manufacturer support. Do not assume needle cleaning or descaling will fix a hard power loss.
