Where should you look first?
Marvel’s news pages
Check Marvel.com’s Latest News listing, which includes a “Latest Games News” section, and Marvel’s Games category. These are sensible starting points for a rights-holder announcement. The pages’ direct contents could not be independently inspected, so rely on what is visible on Marvel’s site rather than treating a search excerpt as confirmation of details it does not show.
Marvel Games’ official channels
Marvel’s announcement of Marvel’s Blade directed readers to follow Marvel Games on X. That is an example of Marvel using its own channels to point audiences toward updates, not evidence that an unannounced game has a particular account. Verify any current account link by navigating from Marvel’s site or an official announcement instead of trusting a handle copied into a rumor post. Marvel’s Blade announcement
What to follow after a game is announced
The developer and publisher
Once Marvel names the companies involved, add their official news pages and social accounts to your checks. Insomniac Games says it shares updates through its official X/Twitter, Discord, Instagram, and Facebook accounts. NetEase’s Marvel Rivals newsroom is an example of a publisher maintaining a dated, game-specific news archive. Neither example means Insomniac or NetEase is attached to an unknown Marvel project.

The platform partner
If an announcement names a platform partner, check that company’s official blog for platform-related posts. PlayStation Blog, for example, has published Marvel game updates by an Insomniac Games community manager, including a recap of a Marvel’s Wolverine panel and trailer. That makes it a useful primary source for relevant PlayStation coverage—not a universal channel for every Marvel game. PlayStation Blog’s Wolverine update
How to tell whether an update is official
- Find the original post. Look for the claim on Marvel’s own site or on an official account linked from it.
- Check which organization is speaking. Depending on what has been announced, a rights holder, named developer, publisher, or platform partner may have primary information. A fan account, repost, or unattributed screenshot is not the original source.
- Match the claim to the source. A post from a named platform partner can confirm that partner’s own update, but do not treat it as proof of details it does not state.
- Keep unconfirmed claims labeled as rumors. Insomniac advises that information from elsewhere should be treated as rumor, potentially false, or misinformed unless Insomniac, PlayStation, or Marvel says otherwise. That guidance is specific to Insomniac; the broader practical rule is to seek confirmation from the organizations officially identified with the game. Insomniac Games Support
Should you expect updates on a schedule?
No schedule can be inferred from these general examples. Insomniac’s support article says, “If there is no news being posted, there is no news to share,” and notes that its support channels are not the place to seek information about future releases outside incoming game updates, hotfixes, or patches. That is guidance for Insomniac’s channels, not a promise about another developer’s communication plans. Unless an official source gives a date, event appearance, newsletter, or notification option, treat none as established.
