Open Samsung Find, SmartThings Find, or Galaxy Wearable’s Find My Earbuds and select your Galaxy Buds to check their map location. If the earbuds are nearby and connected to your phone over Bluetooth, you may be able to make them ring. The map, nearby-search, and sound options depend on the Buds model, phone software, app version, and region.
Start with Samsung’s built-in finding tools
Use the Samsung account associated with the earbuds. You can start in any of these overlapping Samsung services; the available options may differ by device and software.

Samsung’s regional instructions and compatible-device lists can vary. Its Philippines guide lists Samsung Find and SmartThings Find availability for Android 10 or later and identifies supported Buds models; check the guidance for your country and exact model at Samsung Philippines.
Use the map, nearby search, or ring based on where the earbuds may be
If the Buds may be close by
- Select the Buds in the finding service and check the displayed location.
- If offered, use Search nearby while moving around the area where you think they were lost. This option is not available in every model or situation.
- Use Ring or Play sound only when the earbuds can connect to your phone over Bluetooth. Samsung’s US support guide says the earbuds and phone must be Bluetooth-connected for Ring to work.
If they are disconnected or offline
Check the map for the last reported location and refresh it if the service offers that option. A displayed location can be old or approximate when the Buds are offline. Samsung says offline finding can use nearby participating Galaxy devices to detect a Samsung device that is not connected to the internet, provided offline finding was enabled. It is network-assisted location—not guaranteed live tracking. See Samsung Canada’s explanation.

Samsung Australia notes that in the BLE context described on its SmartThings Find support page, the displayed location may differ from the actual location by as much as 100 metres, and indoor locations may differ too. That is a regional caveat, not a universal accuracy guarantee for every Buds model or country.
Check the model, case, and battery limits
- Earbuds inside the case: Nearby search while the Buds are in the case is model-dependent. Samsung lists Galaxy Buds FE, Galaxy Buds2, and earlier models among examples that do not support Nearby search inside the case. Check the instructions for your exact model rather than assuming the feature works across all generations.
- Earbuds and case fully depleted: Samsung says the earbuds cannot be located if both the earbuds and charging case batteries are completely depleted.
- Charging case lost by itself: Samsung Support states, “If only the charging case is lost, its location cannot be checked separately.” The statement appears in Samsung’s guide updated April 28, 2026; see the regional guide and Samsung US guidance.
- Buds missing from the account: Confirm that they were paired or registered with a supported device and that the relevant Samsung apps and settings are available. Samsung Australia says compatible Buds used with a device without SmartThings Find cannot be found through its offline-finding feature unless the wearable has been connected at least once to a device with SmartThings Find.
If the Buds do not appear or the location is not useful
- Sign in to the Samsung account used when the Buds were paired or registered.
- Try the other Samsung entry point: Samsung Find, SmartThings Find, or Galaxy Wearable’s Find My Earbuds.
- Check that your phone, apps, and Buds model support the finding feature you expect, and consult Samsung support for your region.
- If offline finding was not configured, the Buds are out of connection range, or the batteries are depleted, a current map location or ring may not be available.
Finding options are not separate third-party tracking services: they are Samsung tools, and the available actions depend on the linked account, model, app version, phone software, and location. Stay safe when retrieving a lost device
If the map places the earbuds at an unfamiliar or private address, do not try to retrieve them yourself. Samsung Canada advises sharing the location with local authorities if necessary.

A Samsung Galaxy SmartTag attached to the charging case can help track the tagged case through SmartThings, with location updates potentially supported by nearby participating Galaxy devices. It tracks the case only; if the earbuds are separated from it, the tag does not locate the earbuds. See Samsung’s SmartThings Find and SmartTag overview and SmartThings Find guidance.
