For a reliable starting point, use the data center operator’s own location page, then cross-check the facility name and municipality in a directory or connectivity listing. Google confirms its Inzai facility opened in March 2023; Japan Data Center Watch lists multiple named facilities in Inzai, while AWS and Open Connectivity eXchange identify NEC Inzai as a data center with network-connectivity services. A map pin can help you orient yourself, but it does not establish that a site accepts visitors.
Start with an operator or facility name
Search for the facility’s exact name together with “Inzai, Chiba,” rather than relying only on a broad search such as “data center Inzai.” Broad results may mix facilities with network connection points, nearby Shiroi sites, or planned developments.
Google’s Inzai, Japan data center page is a first-party reference and says the facility opened in March 2023. For other names, use the Japan Data Center Watch facilities directory as a discovery aid. It includes map links for many entries and displays differing evidence labels and status dates, so check each listing against the operator’s current information.
Use listings without confusing facilities and network services
Google Inzai
Google’s location page identifies its Inzai facility and gives March 2023 as its opening date. The page also provides a general inquiry email for the location.

NEC Inzai
AWS announced that its Direct Connect location in Inzai is within NEC Inzai. That confirms AWS connectivity at the facility; it does not mean AWS owns the data center. AWS’s May 30, 2023 announcement describes the connection location, and Open Connectivity eXchange’s site list names NEC Inzai Data Center in Inzai, Chiba.
Other names in the Inzai directory
Japan Data Center Watch lists entries including Colt Inzai Data Centre 1 through 4, Keppel Tokyo Data Centre 3, MC Digital Realty NRT10, MFIP Inzai, STACK TKY01A, STT Tokyo 1, and Equinix TY12x and TY13x. Treat these names as leads for further checking, not as a uniform set of current operator confirmations: the directory shows different status dates and evidence labels across entries.

Check the municipality and status
- Search the exact name. Add “Inzai, Chiba” to the operator or campus name in your map service.
- Confirm that the result is a facility. Distinguish a physical data center from a cloud-network service or connectivity point. AWS Direct Connect, for example, is a service located within NEC Inzai, not the name of an AWS-owned facility.
- Cross-check the location. Compare the map result with the operator’s own page and, where useful, an independent listing such as Japan Data Center Watch or Open Connectivity eXchange. Check what the map link actually identifies; it may not establish a public entrance or precise visitor destination.
- Read the status date. A directory entry with a dated status or evidence label is not equivalent to a current statement from the operator. Treat a project announcement as a plan unless a newer operator source confirms operation.
Keep Inzai separate from Shiroi
“Inzai-Shiroi area” can describe a broader data center region, but Inzai and Shiroi are different municipalities. IIJ identifies its Shiroi Data Center Campus as being in Shiroi City, Chiba Prefecture, and describes its interconnection with SCSK’s Inzai campus. The two campuses are connected; they are not the same location. See the November 20, 2024 IIJ and SCSK announcement.
Planned projects are not proof of an operating site
In a December 19, 2023 announcement, NTT Global Data Centers Japan and TEPCO Power Grid described a planned Inzai-Shiroi development with a total planned IT load of 50 MW and projected first capacity in the second half of fiscal year 2026. Those figures and timing describe the announced plan, not confirmation that capacity has since been delivered or is operating. Check for a current operator update before treating it as an available facility.

Map locations do not imply public access
The available operator and directory information identifies facilities and, in some cases, provides map links, but does not establish a general public tour or walk-in policy. Contact the operator before attempting to visit; do not treat a map pin as permission to enter.

SCSK’s November 24, 2020 notice described Inzai as about one hour by train from Tokyo and about 30 minutes by train from Narita International Airport. Those are historical approximate figures, not current journey estimates. For a specific trip, use a current transit planner and confirm the destination with the operator, since the sources do not establish complete public street addresses, entrances, or visitor directions.
