Find tech vacancies through searchable job platforms, including the Government of India’s National Career Service (NCS), then verify the employer, vacancy and recruiter independently before sharing sensitive information. A listing—even one using a familiar company name—is a lead, not proof that the person contacting you is authorized to hire.
Start with a specific role and search criteria
Search for the work you can actually do rather than relying on a broad phrase such as “IT job.” Use a role title, relevant technology or skill, and—where useful—an experience level. For example, a candidate qualified for a particular software-development specialty should search using that specialty and its relevant tools, not just “technology.”

The NCS portal includes an “IT & Communication” sector and supports keyword and preference-based job search. The Government of India service directory lists filters including location, sector, role and qualification. Narrowing the search with these criteria makes results more relevant; it does not verify that a posting or recruiter is genuine.
Use NCS and other platforms to discover leads
Search National Career Service
NCS is operated by India’s Ministry of Labour & Employment and is a government job-search option. Search by role or skill, then refine results with preferences such as location, sector and qualification. The portal also provides career-related services and information about job fairs.
#1 Best Overall
NCS says: “NCS services are free of cost. NCS does not charge any fee at any stage of registration, job application, interview processing and other employment related services.” This statement is from the National Career Service, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.
Read the listing source carefully
NCS distinguishes its direct listings from jobs aggregated through partners. Its FAQ says partner listings can be identified by a “Powered By” label in the Company Name field. That label tells you the posting is partner-provided; it does not establish that the employer or the person who later contacts you is authentic.
You can use more than one job-search channel to find openings. Compare whether a vacancy is direct or aggregated, which useful search filters are available, and whether you can confirm the same role through the employer’s own channel. Treat every posting as an unverified lead until you complete those checks.
Verify the employer, vacancy and recruiter
- Find the employer’s official channel independently. Navigate to the organization’s official website or careers channel yourself, rather than relying only on links or phone numbers sent in a message.
- Check that the vacancy is represented there. Compare the role, location and hiring details with the listing or offer. If the vacancy is not easy to confirm, contact the organization through independently obtained details and ask whether it is recruiting for that role.
- Verify the person contacting you. NCS advises candidates to check an employer’s background, and Naukri’s Security Centre advises checking the authenticity of the person who contacts you. Ask the organization to confirm the recruiter or hiring contact through its official channel if anything is unclear.
- Look for a coherent hiring process. Be cautious if someone promises direct joining with no interview or selection process, offers unusually high pay for easy work, or claims to represent a major company from a personal email address. NCS lists these as fraud indicators; any one sign is a reason to check further, not proof by itself.
Never pay to secure a job
Do not pay an employer or agency to obtain employment. NCS says its registration, job application, interview-processing and other employment-related services are free, and warns candidates not to pay employers. Naukri’s security guidance also warns about requests for registration, “refundable” or document-processing fees.
Rank #3
Job portals may offer optional paid add-on services, such as resume writing, resume promotion or job alerts. Those services are different from paying a supposed employer or recruiter to secure a vacancy. Do not let a paid add-on substitute for verifying a job or a hiring contact.

If you suspect a job scam or have shared money or information, use the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal to register a complaint or report financial fraud. The portal also provides facilities to check or report suspect identifiers, including websites, phone numbers and email IDs. NCS publishes helpline 1514 and directs users to cybercrime helpline 1930; check the official sites for current contact details before calling.
