You can start with free phone-based support, then compare lower-cost providers or online clinicians if you need scheduled ongoing care. In Pakistan, a free counseling call, a clinical assessment and a continuing course of therapy are not necessarily the same service—ask what follow-up, privacy protections and referrals are available before you book.
Start with free or publicly supported support
If cost is the main barrier, these services may offer a first conversation or a way to find out what kind of help is available. Their scope differs, so confirm current access and whether they can arrange follow-up.
Tele-Tabeeb 1123
Sindh Integrated Emergency & Health Services (SIEHS) describes Tele-Tabeeb 1123 as a free, 24/7 telephone telemedicine service available nationwide, with no registration or fee. SIEHS says, “Tele-Tabeeb 1123 provides mental health counseling through a team of licensed psychologists and counselors available 24/7.” The service says it can refer emergencies to 1122; in SIEHS’s framing, 1123 is the consultation line and 1122 is the emergency ambulance number. Confirm current availability and ask whether the call can lead to continuing care. SIEHS: Tele-Tabeeb 1123.
Punjab Safe Cities Authority helpline 15
Associated Press of Pakistan reported on 23 April 2026 that callers experiencing psychological distress in Punjab could dial 15 and press 7 to connect with a psychologist. The report described the counseling as free and confidential, and said 24/7 support was also available through the GenZ App. This is a Punjab service; reconfirm the phone routing and app availability before relying on them. APP reported more than 276 calls to the helpline from January through April 2026, a count for that period, not a measure of need across Pakistan. Associated Press of Pakistan report.

Taskeen Health Initiative
A BMJ Innovations early-stage report published on 21 July 2026 describes Taskeen’s nationwide telephone mental-health service as offering scheduled consultations with trained mental-health professionals. The report describes free, confidential and anonymized support, funded by donations. It says the service is for people aged 16 and older; those under 18 need parental consent. Confirm current eligibility, consent requirements and appointment availability directly with Taskeen. BMJ Innovations report.
Asghar Trust & Wellness Foundation
The foundation’s website says its counseling and clinic services are free, with clinics or camps and a women’s support line in named cities and provinces; it also says no referral is needed. Contact the organization to check whether it serves your area and to confirm current locations and hours. Asghar Trust & Wellness Foundation.

Compare lower-cost and paid therapy options
Published prices are examples from individual providers, not a national price guide. Check what the fee covers, whether a clinician is accepting clients and whether any stated discount still applies.
| Option | What the provider or report describes | Cost information and caveat |
|---|---|---|
| SAY Global | Psych-community sessions, in person and online; the page says special consideration may be available in some cases. | PKR 700 per session on the provider’s page; the year is not stated. Confirm the listing, intake and eligibility. SAY Global program. |
| SehatYab | The platform says it connects users with PMDC-licensed psychiatrists and qualified clinical psychologists, with video, audio or text support in Urdu or English. Clinician fees appear on profiles for comparison. Its FAQ distinguishes talk therapy and coping support from psychiatric assessment and medication guidance when appropriate. | Fees vary by clinician; check the profile and booking details. SehatYab says Huda Healthcare is registered with the Punjab Healthcare Commission and SECP; this is the platform’s claim, not independent verification. SehatYab. |
| Zong–SehatYab offer reported in May 2026 | Associated Press of Pakistan reported that Zong users could access free self-assessments and discounted SehatYab consultations. | APP reported a standard consultation range of PKR 1,250–5,000 and a student fee of PKR 750, plus discounts for single sessions or packages. These are dated promotional figures, not confirmed current prices. Associated Press of Pakistan report. |
| PTCL/Ufone–Oladoc offer reported in May 2026 | Associated Press of Pakistan reported that psychiatrist consultations were being offered free to mothers through the UPTCL app. | Current eligibility, availability and booking instructions are not established by that report; check the app and provider before relying on the offer. Associated Press of Pakistan report. |
The available sources do not establish a representative national price distribution or a usual fee for therapy in Pakistan. Do not treat one provider’s PKR 700 listing or a time-limited promotion as a market average.

Check what you are paying for before booking
Price matters, but a low fee is useful only if the service fits your needs and you can access it consistently. Ask the provider these questions before you commit:
- Total cost: What is the fee per appointment? If there is a package, what is its total price, expiry date and cancellation policy? Is student or lower-income pricing available? Calculate the total and check the conditions rather than assuming a package saves money.
- Provider role and qualifications: Is the person a clinical psychologist, psychiatrist or another kind of counselor? A clinical psychologist may provide talk therapy; a psychiatrist can assess medical concerns and prescribe medication when appropriate. Ask about qualifications and relevant registration directly; do not treat “counselor,” “coach” and licensed clinician as interchangeable labels.
- Language and fit: Can you speak in Urdu or another preferred language? Can you request a therapist of a particular gender? Does the clinician have experience with your concern? Is the first meeting an assessment or a therapy session?
- Mode and access: Is care by phone, video, text or in person? Consider internet and data needs, travel, scheduling, wait times, accessibility and whether the service can see people in your location.
- Privacy and follow-up: How are sessions and notes handled, who can access them, and what are the limits to confidentiality in an emergency? Ask how continuity works and where the provider refers people who need urgent or more specialized care.
- Clinical scope: Is this a one-time supportive call, an assessment, ongoing therapy, psychiatric review or crisis response? These are distinct services, and a phone support line may not provide a continuing course of therapy.
Know where to turn in an emergency
Routine therapy services and online clinics are not necessarily emergency responders. SehatYab says it is not an emergency service and lists 1122 and police 15 for urgent situations; SIEHS says Tele-Tabeeb 1123 clinicians can route callers to 1122 when necessary. If someone is in imminent danger or at risk of self-harm, contact local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department. If possible, stay with a trusted person while help is arranged; do not assume a routine service can respond immediately. SehatYab and SIEHS.
