Start by checking which apps or activities are using power, then reduce the largest avoidable drains: display brightness and screen time, intensive multitasking, and hotspot or connectivity use when you do not need them. Vivo’s battery-saving features may help in supported software builds, but the company’s runtime figures are scenario-specific claims—not a promise of everyday battery life.
First, find what is draining the battery
Open Settings and look for the battery section, or use Settings search for “battery” if the menus differ on your phone. Review the listed apps and activities before changing settings. Vivo’s older guidance points to Settings > Battery, but that exact path has not been verified for the X Fold6 running OriginOS 7.
Look for an app that is using an unexpectedly large share of power, especially if the drain began recently. Also consider what you were doing: long periods with the inner display on, video calls, navigation, hotspot use, or several demanding apps at once can all increase consumption. The battery screen is a better starting point than applying restrictions to every app.
Reduce the biggest controllable drains
Lower brightness and reduce screen-on time
- Set brightness to the lowest level that remains comfortable to read.
- Shorten the screen timeout if the display often stays on after you put the phone down.
- When you do not need the large inner screen, consider whether the cover display is sufficient for the task.
These are general power-saving measures, not results from a device-specific battery test. Use the phone’s own display settings; exact menu labels can vary by software build.

Limit demanding multitasking when runtime matters
Close or pause intensive tasks you are not using, particularly long video calls or multiple active apps. Foldable multitasking is useful, but keeping several apps working on screen can mean more display and processing activity. You do not need to force-stop every app; focus on the sessions that match the drain shown in battery usage.
Turn off connections and hotspot use when idle
Disable hotspot, Bluetooth, location, or other connectivity features when you are not using them. A hotspot still uses power even when described as low-power, and its consumption can vary with connected devices, network signal, and how much data they transfer.

Use Vivo’s battery features when available
Connected standby and low-power hotspot
Vivo describes connected standby and a low-power hotspot feature for the X Fold6. If these options appear in your regional software build, they may be useful when you need the phone reachable or need to share a connection while away from a charger. Their presence and benefit are not guaranteed in every build or usage situation.
OriginOS 7 claims and what they mean
Vivo’s OriginOS 7 feature page describes Battery Life Estimate, BlueVolt Smart Engine, and Extended Connected Standby. Vivo says BlueVolt Smart Engine can reduce power consumption by up to 25% in high-resolution Teams calls and extend battery life by up to 4% in those same scenarios; it also claims connected standby can be extended by up to 26%. These are manufacturer claims for specified scenarios, not independent measurements or general runtime guarantees.

On its India X Fold6 product page, vivo advertises 7.43 hours for a camera-on Teams meeting with shared content full-screen and 9.37 hours for Origin Workbench multitasking. These are vendor scenario figures, so they should not be used to predict how many hours your phone will last in mixed everyday use. Vivo’s page notes: “Actual battery life is subject to actual usage and may vary due to environmental and other factors.”
Menu names and availability can differ by region and software build. The official materials do not establish exact X Fold6 paths for refresh rate, per-app background limits, or power-saving mode. Use Settings search or the labels visible on your phone rather than relying on a path written for another version.

Battery saver is for stretching the remaining charge
Use a battery-saving mode when you need to get through the rest of the day and can accept reduced functionality. Older vivo quick-start documentation says Super Battery Saver limits features and performance, but that documentation is not specific to the X Fold6 or OriginOS 7. The exact mode name and what it restricts may differ on your phone.
For a trip or a long day away from an outlet, a USB-C power bank is a straightforward backup. Check the power bank’s connector, output, cable, and compatibility with your regional device before buying; a general USB-C bank should not be assumed to support vivo’s proprietary maximum FlashCharge rate.

Capacity figures depend on the regional model
Vivo’s India specifications list the X Fold6 battery at 6,900 mAh typical and 6,670 mAh minimum rated. Vivo’s China specification page gives a different dual-cell configuration: 2,946 mAh + 4,054 mAh typical (7,000 mAh equivalent) and 2,845 mAh + 3,915 mAh rated (6,760 mAh equivalent). These regional figures are not interchangeable; check the specification for the market version you own.
When the drain seems abnormal
If battery use changed suddenly, check whether a recently installed app or software update coincides with the change, then review battery usage again after normal use. Persistent unusual drain or heat is a reason to contact vivo support. Do not assume a particular repair or reset is appropriate without guidance for your model and software build.
