Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIn GeForce Experience, open Settings using the cog icon and enable Enable Experimental Features. NVIDIA documents the checkbox in the About box in one guide and under Settings > General in another, so look for that exact label if it is not in the first location. NVIDIA app uses a different beta opt-in path: Settings > About, then beta and experimental feature Early Access.
Enable the setting in GeForce Experience
- Open GeForce Experience and click the Settings cog.
- Look for Enable Experimental Features. NVIDIA’s GeForce Experience 3.20.5 Beta notes and its Reflex Analyzer guide document the checkbox under Settings > General; NVIDIA’s Image Scaling instructions place it in the Settings About box. Menu placement can vary by version. If you do not see it in one location, check the other Settings sections for the exact label.
- Turn on the checkbox. If GeForce Experience downloads an update, let it finish and restart the app if prompted.
Use the corresponding option in NVIDIA app
If you have NVIDIA app rather than GeForce Experience, NVIDIA’s beta instructions dated August 19, 2025, describe opting into beta and experimental feature Early Access at Settings > About. This is the NVIDIA app’s documented beta route; it should not be assumed to behave identically to GeForce Experience’s checkbox. See NVIDIA’s NVIDIA app beta instructions.
NVIDIA recommends that remaining GeForce Experience users move to NVIDIA app. Its upgrade notice says some GeForce Experience installations cannot update automatically and directs users to install NVIDIA app from NVIDIA’s website or through a Game Ready Driver. The notice says critical GeForce Experience web servers will be switched off “in the near future” but gives no specific date.
What enabling experimental access changes
The setting is an opt-in to beta functionality, not a guarantee that every experimental feature will appear or work on your system. Availability can depend on the particular app build, driver, GPU, or game. NVIDIA’s GeForce Experience 3.20.5 Beta notes, for example, associated the setting with specific overlay metrics and GPU tuning; the tuning feature in that release was limited to RTX 20 and RTX 30 desktop cards. Those release notes describe a historical release, not current compatibility.

- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis
Turn on the feature you want separately
Opting into experimental access may be only the first step. NVIDIA’s Image Scaling walkthrough shows that after the app update and restart, users returned to Settings to enable Image Scaling and the In-Game Overlay, then configured or optimized the feature for games. That sequence is specific to Image Scaling, not a universal requirement for every experimental feature. Follow the instructions for the feature you want, including any separate toggle or restart it requires.
