Roblox identifies Roblox – Windows in Microsoft Store as the new app for playing on Windows; install it and sign in with your usual Roblox account. Roblox also documents a website-based Player installation flow, but follow Roblox’s current prompts if the new-app transition applies to you.
Roblox says your progress, friends, Robux, and inventory items are tied to your account. Download Roblox only from Microsoft Store or Roblox’s official website, not third-party installer sites.

Check Roblox’s Windows requirements
Roblox Support lists the following Windows PC requirements and recommendations. These are Roblox’s published specifications, not a guarantee of performance.

For best performance, Roblox recommends a computer less than five years old with dedicated graphics, or a laptop less than three years old with integrated graphics. To check whether Windows is 64-bit, open Settings > System > About and review System type.

Install Roblox from Microsoft Store
- Open Microsoft Store on your Windows PC.
- Search for Roblox and select the listing named Roblox – Windows.
- Install the app using the Store’s current prompts.
- Open Roblox and sign in with your existing Roblox username and password.
Roblox distinguishes the new Store app as Roblox – Windows; the older listing is named Roblox. Roblox says the new app is needed to continue playing on Windows. After you have installed the new app and successfully logged in, Roblox says you can uninstall the old app.
Install Roblox Player from the official website
Roblox Support also documents this browser-based Player flow. It may not be the best route for every Windows user during the app transition, so follow the current instructions and prompts shown by Roblox.

- Open Roblox.com in a modern browser such as Microsoft Edge, Firefox, or Chrome.
- Sign in to your Roblox account.
- Open an experience and select the green Play button.
- Follow the prompt to install Roblox Player.
- When you launch an experience later, select Play and allow the browser to open Roblox if prompted.
Roblox Studio is separate from the player and is for creating experiences; you do not need Studio just to play.
Keep your Roblox account safe
Use trusted sources for Roblox downloads. Roblox says there are no official Roblox browser extensions, so avoid extensions or installer programs claiming to be official Roblox tools.

If you are setting up Roblox for a child, installation is separate from parental controls. Roblox says a parent account with parent privileges must be linked to the child’s account to manage controls such as content maturity, allowed and blocked games, communication, screen time, and spending.
